⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 – A True Boaz Gem

My first visit to Boaz Café, and it won’t be my last. It’s a smaller hometown café — maybe 8–10 tables total, a mix of two-tops, fours, and a couple larger tables — plus the bonus of a drive-thru. Inside, the atmosphere feels exactly like a place that knows what it’s doing: daily specials on the wall, a solid menu, and classic meat-and-three options with rotating entrées (chicken & dumplings on Mondays, meatloaf and chicken casserole on Tuesdays, etc.).

I ordered the hamburger steak with gravy and onions along with fried okra, green beans, and mashed potatoes. All were solid, but the fried okra deserves its own sentence — 10/10, clearly homemade and not the frozen kind. That alone told me I had picked the right spot.

They also tempted me with peanut butter pie, which I absolutely did not need after Thanksgiving… but I’m glad I caved. Thick, rich, homemade, and excellent. I even met the cashier who baked it — super friendly, like the rest of the staff.

I arrived around 12:30 on a weekday, and even though it was busy, tables turned quickly and service was fast.

If you’re anywhere near Boaz, stop in. Great food, great people, and if the peanut butter pie is available, don’t leave without a slice.

In town on a sales call. So glad I stopped here. Meat and 3 that tastes like your momma made it. The ladies were friendly and the right amount of attentive. Krista was my server.

Small town cafe.
Had a BLT sandwich and a country plate (greens, corn bread, onion & beans). A BLT sandwich you cannot mess up. (Wish I had remembered to ask for mayo on it.) The country plate could have had more flavor to it. Price was great.

It seems we always end up sitting at the community table which is always great to meet new people. Food is best in town

A Diamond in the rough offering great food for unbelievable prices. We took a chance on stopping in here for lunch while traveling nearby and were so glad that we did. My wife and I both opted for burgers, hers with fries, mine with onion rings. They were very good! Moist, thick and flavorful…even the onion and tomato on them tasted so fresh!! And then finally!!! A place that doesn’t treat onion rings like they’re made of gold. I hate that most places only give you 5-6 onion rings in an order like they’re a rare, precious commodity. Boaz cafe gave a generous portion of onion rings with my burger, and they were crisp and tasty! There was so much more on the menu that sounded great and was priced great that we didn’t get to try. This is a spot that if I lived locally, we’d be at on the regular. The building and interior furnishings are not what I would call nice, but the food and friendly service more than make up for that! Do yourself a favor and drop in for some great food at a great price!

Very fast service. The food is homestyle country food. Every weekday is a different featured meat along with certain meats that can be ordered everyday. Note: there are NO restrooms, but don’t let that deter you- the food and service are great

This place is an absolute treasure! We were in Boaz for a wedding and dined here just before closing on a Friday night. Everything was still hot and fresh and served with care & kindness. The fried okra here is NEXT LEVEL. I have never had okra so perfect before. Flavorful, crisp, and completely free of that weird gumminess that is common when okra is friend in large batches and left to sit under a hot lamp at so many other places. For the main I had the hamburger steak with gravy & onions. Everything about it was exceptional. Fantastic cook on the hamburger steak, with a great crispy flavorful crust but still moist and tender inside. The gravy and onions were exploding with both rich flavor and a still great texture to the onions. They weren’t just cooked down into oblivion and boiling in a pot somewhere for hours. The collard greens were super flavorful as well, with a deep and complex richness that I’ve never had before in such a humble side.

My ONLY COMPLAINT is that they wouldn’t be open the next morning so I could come back for breakfast! haha!

Seriously, this place is just awesome. They have built a wonderful place with food that makes people happy. If I EVER come back to Boaz, this place will be my first stop.

Stopped by with the boss after picking up a new work truck. Our waitress was really friendly and cute. Wish I remembered her name. Older like us and liked her boat. Food was really good. Portions were enough. If ever back in Boaz I will be back. I 100% recommend.

I ordered a burger. They had got it wrong twice and still failed to make it right. Will not be eating here again.
