First, I waited over 30 minutes for my order—and it never arrived. Apparently, their system was down, so they had to replace my order. When the food finally came, I decided to try their Asian fries. Honestly, there was just too much going on with the fries—they were overly wet, and the mix of salty and sweet flavors didn’t work for me at all. When I politely mentioned this to the staff, I was met with a dismissive comment that I should have “looked before placing the order,” which felt unnecessarily rude.
The burger itself was decent at first—until my friend pointed out mold on the bottom of the bread. I immediately told the manager, hoping for a quick resolution. Instead, he shrugged it off, saying the bread “came on the truck like that,” and was generally unhelpful. No apology, no offer of a refund or a replacement meal.
As we were leaving, we saw an employee throwing out the same type of bread, which just confirmed the poor quality control. Overall, this was a disappointing experience that I won’t be repeating or recommending.
When I questioned the young man about the cheese and showed him on my phone where it was listed, he justified my confusion but said the owner didn’t write how it was meant.
Even after spending almost $50 total, I didn’t eat the burger (I guess I’ll go home and doctor it up and try to salvage the money I wasted). Instead, I went to the stand beside CowBar, GymTacos. I spent $8.50 at gym tacos and enjoyed every bite.
To the owner: if you’re going to run a POS only counter (meaning no one takes your order; you simply put it in the system, or you can order online), then please make sure there are explicit instructions. Also, please smash the smash burgers. They shouldn’t be thick like the classic. Lastly, it would be helpful to fist-timers to have instructions or a statement that tells how to order and pick up your food. Something simple, like, “Order here or online, wait for a text. Don’t forget to ask for cheese!”
Now, the cook staff were friendly, the host/cashier was friendly until my daughter asked for a bag. He approached the counter buttoning his pants and asked, “did you get a text?” No greeting, nothing, but at least he gave her the bag…(I wish she wouldn’t have told me about the pants).
A special shout-out to the general manager, David, who was incredibly helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. His hospitality really stood out and added to an already great evening.
Highly recommend CowBurger if you’re looking for amazing food, great service, and a fantastic vibe!
However the meat quality in hot dog was really good that made me guess this place should definitely have high potentials. So next time I visit Raleigh I should try another meal there.
