Great drinks, great service, great food as well!! The only downer for me personally is the room size and the layout of the downstairs. With the bathrooms and the main area of the bar being very close in relation to the entrances it causes huge congestion when the place gets busy. It makes it super hard for the staff to negotiate and the patrons as well. Need a bar upstairs as well so the drinks can be delivered quicker and the staff doesn’t have to run up and down the stairs so much.

The food options for entrees were plentiful. A lot of nice fish options and some red meat. I ended up ordering the crab stuffed halibut which was fresh and tasty. Our server was the real reason the experience was great, I believe her name was Cassie.
Overall a nice hidden spot in Rockford that I’d recommend for a nice dinner with friends or date night.

Everything came as I ordered it, very attentive to my dairy allergy. I’ve been ordering Ahi Tuna for almost 30 years and this is the best I’ve ever had. The ribeye was perfectly seasoned and honestly didn’t need the garlic butter. The employees gave equal service to everyone from larger groups to a small table. Atmosphere is amazing and I honestly don’t know why this isn’t getting a higher star ranking!?! Top notch

I really enjoy Grill 111 overall. Their reuben hasn’t been beat yet, and their fries are tops too. The Pear 111 is my favorite cocktail, then their bonfire bourbon. For dessert, the carrot cake wins. Steer clear of the French onion soup (heavily salted). They had my favorite seafood chowder but messed with the recipe recently – made it thicker and less authentic tasting.

This is, and has been, our favorite restaurant in Rockford since we moved here 9 years ago. We have met wonderful people—both staff and patrons—who have become friends. The food is delicious, and they are always willing to make adjustments. They have an impressive wine list and great craft cocktails. We enjoy sitting at the bar to eat as well as hosting a group upstairs. Grille is not a chain, not run by a board; it’s a locally owned and operated family business. Favorites are the salmon, the filet, and the best crème brûlée! It’s a special place where we feel entirely comfortable and well-taken care of.

Had dinner there for our anniversary. Our waitress was very attentive. The drinks were good though the bartender never heard of Canadian Club whiskey, strange. We enjoyed a couple of drinks, a shrimp cocktail appetizer, and our entrees. My wife had the bistro steak, which was medium well, not medium as requested, and I had the grilled salmon. Both very good, though the too skinny asparagus side that came with both entrees was over seasoned and woody. The pesto risotto that came with my salmon was excellent. The strawberry sorbet for dessert was a nice finish and delicious. I gave only four stars as the atmosphere was so noisy (another table and acoustics there I think) we could not even talk which was a turn off for a romantic dinner.

Very cozy restaurant with great service. I ordered the ribeye. In my opinion, it was overpriced for what I got. Not seasoned, not very flavorful. If I come back, I will try the sandwiches instead.

Had lunch with my son and we both chose the Walleye Basket. We love fish!
The Good: the waiter was very nice and courteous. The walleye was very tasty and the fries were nice and crispy. So the main entree was good.
The not so good: We wanted a side of veggies. Our options were green beans or asparagus. We both chose asparagus. As you can see in the picture, the asparagus was thin as a twine. We each got 4 “strings” of asparagus and they were stringy. Maybe just two inches of the top was edible and the rest were like biting into a stick. For a $4 side, or $1 for each asparagus, they could do a lot better.
This is supposed to be a nice, sit down restaurant. They need to pay attention to what they put on the plate. No excuses.
Note: The waiter was nice and did a good job so we tipped well 🙂

Took my wife here for a birthday date night. Ordered calamari for an appetizer which was great. We both ordered the ribeye medium rare. Both came out closer to medium well, but we had waited so long neither of us were willing to send it back. Probably should have stuck with fish as that seems to have more positive reviews on here. Atmosphere was probably better if you were with a group of friends versus a date. We ended up at a table between two other tables with about a foot between the tables and ended up getting bumped into when someone from the neighbor table had to get up. Wouldn’t say we’d never be back, but would probably stick with a sandwich next time.

A nicer spot with with decent food. I found the seating space to be smaller than I had expected, and the aesthetic a little outdated. The workers were very friendly and helpful! Overall, my group enjoyed out food and the time we had here, but it’s a bit pricey for the location and quality.
