At our Montgomery, AL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

This establishment needs overhaul on employees and services. I went there today given them the benefit of the doubt to do better. I bought the captains seafood platter. The catfish was slimy, the corn on the cob was brown like it was cooked yesterday and rewarmed, the crab cakes tasted old as well. I just can’t understand why you spend so much money on to go food and it be so bad. I wonder if the people that serving it would eat it. If you wouldn’t why serve it to someone else. Then they wouldn’t answer the phone to hear your complaints so I’m leaving this review.

I usually get the regular cod, two piece, hush puppies and green beans and a sweet tea with lemon. For the first time I was able to order the grilled white fish with the grilled shrimp with two sides. The meal was incredible. I didn’t expect it to taste so fresh and buttery. It was a lot of food on one plate. The service was expedient and detailed and hospitable as well. The manager is very watchful and detailed oriented. I highly recommend this certain location of Captain D’s in the Montgomery Metro area. Kudos to the kitchen staff for cooking such delicious fish. I chose the lemon pepper. My other options were black pepper, and blackened. I’m sure they are good as well.

Stopped here for dinner. The new chicken nuggets are just ok to me. I like the original chicken strips. Food arrived hot however and customer service was on point.

went in for lunch with my wife i tryed to order special they said oh we out chicken and we cant replace it with nothing else either lol should have been my sign to leave but i was tired so i ordered fish n shrimp it was at my table before i could sit down which tells me it wasnt fresh and of course it wasnt the fish was hard and cold the shrimp was so burnt and hard it almost broke a tooth at this point i just left young lady at register was very nice but manager here needs training on customer service will not return here

I have been here twice..each time the food was delicious…there is one cook that’s always heard..makes sure the food is done right…takes pride in his cooking…the cashiers are pleasant. The dining area is not messy…kept up but smells like bathroom..
