Because it is Ash Wednesday, I choose a vegetarian dish. I was expecting a somewhat bland and common experience. This is not what I received. The proprietor served the dish and the accompanying margarita. This was followed by 2 bottles of a La Laguna concoction. This took my meal experience to the next level. When you visit Joseph, Oregon, please make this your destination restaurant. You are not going to find this anywhere else in the World.

I was definitely not impressed… Ate here Saturday 9/27. Gal that sat us at our table was very snappy with us. I asked if we could sit outside in the shade and she remarked that the shaded table was for big groups only meaning we could either sit in the sun or eat inside. The way she said it was just very rude. The waiter we had was nice but also kind of snappy as well. My sister asked for a vegan burrito and he tried convincing her to get a different burrito that wasn’t vegan. She asked for a specific sauce on the burrito and he told her they couldn’t do that because it wouldn’t taste good. She asked if they could do it anyways because that’s the way she wanted to eat it and was told no. He said he wasn’t going to do that because he didn’t think it would be good. If it’s an option in the kitchen, why does it matter what he thinks it tastes like?? I got the number 24? Chicken Enchilada and two beef tacos. I was very unimpressed… The chicken had no flavor and the beef was honestly not good. The whole taco itself was gross. The beans and rice were good! Kind of sad overall because the reviews make it seem like the food’s really good but I was definitely not impressed at all. Certainly will not eat here next time we visit… Not to mention $0.50 extra for to go orders and a 3.5% fee on credit card purchases…

Believe me when I say I never leave reviews but this place deserves more than 5 stars. The food was pretty good. When my little brother asked for a cheeseburger at Mexican restaurant they gave him a crabby patty gummy to start and then gave him a real burger. The waiter is the best comedian I’ve ever met. 10/10 would recommend.

The service here was absolutely terrible. Right as we walked in, we were “greeted” by a girl in her mid 20’s maybe, with brunette hair and a low bun (1 think her name is Tammy?) We had asked to sit next to the window so we could see the view during our meal, however we immediately felt her annoyance with us just because we asked to be sat somewhere other than where she was guiding us. She then COLDLY served us our water with no word/basically threw our chips and salsa onto the table and left instantly, did NOT say anything like “Just let me know when you guys are ready to order!”. No slight smile or anything. Felt quite unusual for average customer service. We then waited a bit longer than usual to order because that same girl never checked in with us after to see if we were ready to order, ALTHOUGH I saw she was just standing at the bar counter doing nothing. Throughout this whole experience she did not check in with us at once nor were we met with any kindness or warmness or anything that a usual waitress should greet customers with, especially tourists. (I’ve honestly experienced better customer service at fast food places and did notice caucasian customers being greeted in a much friendlier and consistent matter…. don’t know if that was just a coincidence or….). Overall, the customer service from that one employee just ruined the experience overall as tourists who were just excited to try this restaurant. (I’ll definitely remember this treatment for a while unfortunately)

The place is decent and budget friendly. I ordered chicken nachos and la laguna veggie enchiladas. The first set of chips and salsa is complimentary, and each dish serves one person. Customer service is great and friendly. Order is also served quick and hot. I would love to visit the place once again.

(By Kerry’s wife)I will not come back. Food wasn’t worth it. Tasteless! Even the fajitas lacked flavor. But more than that, when I visit my family in Joseph, I want to “visit” with them. The owner who was our waiter was so disruptive. Constantly bursting out in some Spanish song that could be heard all over the room, standing in front of the TV to block our view when we were trying to see a replay of a football game and thinking he was so funny! Holding a pen and hugging me and singing and thinking he was so funny! Totally inappropriate. Very much an attention mongering behavior. I just wanted to get away!

A just okay Mexican food place. Food was delicious and fresh prepared. Drinks were watered down and had more ice than anything else. Prices were pretty steep for food quality/quantity. Service was fun but cadence fell short with drinks coming out after food. Not very busy but was just a little slow. Perhaps COVID has had some effects on them.

Customer service is phenomenal. Very friendly and homey. Our server was entertaining as well. The food was some of the best Mexican I’ve had. Homemade sauces and good ingredients. It was easy to customize and get vegan options as well. Their payment system charged a 3.75% fee for cards but it was well worth it!
