Fresh seafood generally taste good but I did try much better tasting dish which are similar hence marked down slightly but very fresh tasting food. The butter and the pasta are both homemade. Good environment worth trying when you are in Ghent.

Excellent place. I had a lovely three course meal with a very traditional sole in butter as the main course, with a glass of rose. I would definitely recommend it. The seating was comfortable and the noise level was fine.

Delicious seafood. As pescatarians, me and my husband had a wonderful lunch here. We chose the chef’s special platter which was on the pricier side but worth the dining experience for the variety of the food we got. We loved it and would happily go back.

The food overall is very good. Especially the mussels, lobster roll and razor clams. You can order via QR code, which is convenient. Inside space is small, seems can only sit outside over the street. Portion is not that big.

This is my first meal in Ghent and I’ll remember it.

They have a simple and spacious courtyard with comfortable chairs.

The service is very efficient and friendly. You order from your phone, and if you want to course out your meal, you can.

The oysters I had from the Netherlands were excellent, as was the wine that pair perfectly, and my first ever lobster roll in Europe!

The food tastes good but we find a few dish are overcooked which lead that the dish are quite dry. There is still a room for a bit improvement on some dish and it will be excellent if they can do it.

The staffs are nice and friendly. We had questions about the menu and they are willing to help and take time with you.

Amazing food, great staff. The best restaurant we tried in Belgium! We were 24 hours in Gent and decided to come here for dinner.
What a pleasant surprise. Waiter explained us the restaurant’s concept: sharing. As a Spanish tapas lover i approve.
Also you can start with few plates and then place as many orders as you may want.
Mussels, batatas (sweet potato), french white wine, salmon gravadlac, lobster roll…everything was so delicious we decided to book before finishing the dinner to come back again next day for lunch.
Unfortunately they didnt have mussels (glad we tried the day before. Definitely a must in this restaurant).
This gave us the opportunity to try other plates and again everything was perfect. We tried ravioli dumplings with mushrooms, gnocchi, mango oyster and tempura shrimps.
Pictures only from dinner as we decided to be more focus on eating during lunch time. Not really, we were just hungry.

This is my first time with this restaurant. We called to book the table for3 and got the table since we arrived. We just sit and waited about 20 minutes without any suggestion or introducing how to order or anything else by the staff. After we asked to make an order then we just knew that we could make it by scan the QR code. So we missed the dish that we wanted finally because it was run out. But any way the other food was delicious.

Came to Ghent for a short visit and decided to try this place for dinner on a summer night. Since I reserved the place in advance, I was able to order a seafood platter which isn’t on the menu.

Nevertheless, we were very happy about the seafood selection and how fresh they were! The lobsters, oysters and shrimps were delicious.

We also ordered appetizers such as ceviche and razor clams which were both highly rated and we were not disappointed.

One thing to note is the indoor area is somewhat limited so most people were seated outside which is across a busy street. It didn’t bother us since it was summer and the weather was super good. However, you should be prepared for some street noise and pedestrian traffic.

Je m’en Fish in Ghent offered us one of the best meals during our visit. The seafood is freshly caught and cooked to perfection. The prices are affordable, given the quality of the dishes. The staff is friendly and attentive. Sitting on the street adds to the vibrant atmosphere of Ghent. Highly recommended for seafood lovers and those seeking a casual yet remarkable dining experience in Ghent.
