First time at the Chuckwagon. We pulled up and there was a line waiting to get in.
Once they opened, service went fast. We ordered the Texas Trinity with baked beans, potato salad, and a side of macaroni with sweet tea.
My husband really enjoyed the beef black pepper sausage and the ribs were tender and juicy. I don’t enjoy brisket but my husband tried it and liked it the least.
The potato salad was okay. I’m used to sweet bbq baked beans, so I didn’t enjoy the beans on their own but with the potato salad—it was palatable.
The macaroni had a smoky flavor which was nice. And, as a southerner, I love sweet tea. It was just right for me!
The only sauce I tried was the sweet flavor. It was very good!
Indoor seating is limited, but we were fortunate to get a spot. The employees that I interacted with were nice, which is always a plus.
At eight months pregnant, waiting in line was my least favorite part of the process, but it was quick and worth it for the ribs and sweet tea alone. Whenever we make it back, I’d love to try the banana pudding.

Very excited to finally try The Chuckwagon. Very glad I got there early because they were already sold out of Dino Ribs and Short ribs by 12:30pm (They open at Noon). The Dino Rib was so amazing and probably my favorite of the meal. Everything was delicious and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We ordered 1/2 lb of moist brisket, 2 jalapeño cheddar links, 2 Texas twinkle, 1 Beef Dino Rib. Both BBQ sauces went really well with all of the meats, but they were also all very tasty without any sauce.

THE BEST BBQ IN COLORADO SPRINGS!!! Been here for 10 years. I’ve tried Rudy’s, Famous Dave’s, BirdDog, Front Range BBQ, and Dickies. None of them come close. This is fresh BBQ done right. There is a reason they are only open for a few hours four days out of the week, and sell out almost every day. The food is great. The customer service is great. All meat is tender, smokey flavor, falls off the bone. The sides are great as well. I’ve tried them all. There is gonna be a big line if you get there early but you know why. I just wish the place was bigger is all, but understand the process. They started as a food truck and this is the next step. Only up from here for this place because it’s just that good. All I ask is to make the next place on the Northside of Marksheffel to stay close to me. Regardless I’m a lifelong customer. Great job Chuckwagon!

Omg… a hidden gem in Colorado Springs. Forget DickiesBbq or Bird , this place is ! I wanted to take a picture… remembered 1/2 way through. Sooooo good! POTATO salad is awesome. Beans are cowboy style, so not very sweet… loved them! Brisket ✔️ pulled pork ✔️ sausage ✔️
GET it ALL!
Family owned, super sweet folks.

Moved here from TX a to few years ago and struggled to find good bbq. Finally made it to The Chuckwagon and now I understand what all the hype is about! Pulled pork, lean brisket & jalapeno sausage were moist, flavorful and cut to order! Price feels high, but that’s just what bbq costs here, there and everywhere.

Yum! They catered my nephew’s wedding and our entire table was saying how this was the best BBQ we’ve ever had! The brisket was so juicy and yummy, the pork, pasta salad, and cole slaw…all so good, and for a couple hundred people!! They nailed it! I can only imagine how amazing it is at the restaurant if it was that stellar for that many people!! I look forward to having it again soon, so yummy!!

I’m here to give my most exuberant five stars for this place. The food is beyond amazing, and the staff and service is equal. I take my culinary students here on field trips several times a year so they can see, first-hand, what great food and service look like.
While I am at it…Erica, you did NOT get sick from eating here. On that same day, I, my sous-chef, and several students enjoyed one of the best burgers on the planet and all were fine. I am a licensed and endorsed food service safety instructor and can assure everybody that this place is clean as a whistle and the food is ALL properly handled and prepared.
There is a reason they have a line around the building an hour before they even open.

After waiting in line for 45min I was told that they are out of the burnt ends that were still on the specials board. You would think they would cross it off when it’s gone.
I decided to get .5lb of brisket and a twinkle. I asked for brisket from the point and was charged more for “moist brisket”. It was not moist, I couldn’t even pick it up to dip in the sauce. It would just fall apart, and was dry. A good amount of it was brisket jerkey that I saved for the dog.
The twinkle was good, but overall disappointed after the hype and wait.
I’ll stick with Big Boy’s BBQ in Security.
