The food was top notch! The only thing I felt was average was the Mac and cheese, other than that everything was delicious including the mash! The portion sizes were bigger than I expected, the beef wellington looks tiny in pictures but it’s a decent size in reality, same applies for my chicken panko main. The lamb chops were so juicy, tender and flavoursome – 100% recommended! Needless to say, the restaurant is beautiful. I visited the one in Manchester 5 years ago, it was a forgettable experience however our experience in the Birmingham branch will be one I’ll remember for a while. Thank you Sufyan for making it a memorable one
The waiting staff are usually mediocre and who wants a side of silly iceberg lettuce anyway?!
The choices of steak here are mouth watering, the sides, finger licking and I didn’t have room to try a dessert.
The interior design of this location makes you look around in awe. One of the prettiest restaurants in Birmingham.
I’ll be returning with my daughter for sure. It was so cute to see any child dining receiving a balloon. It’s the little details that matter.
See you soon Ribeye!
The quality of the steak was amazing and it was also cooked to perfection – the accompaniments however were severely lacking. The steak wasnt rested enough and leaked its juices all over the plate. The chilli pepper sauce was really overpowering and completely lacked any beefiness, there was a smear of some sort of reduction on the plate which seemed to only serve an aesthetic purpose.
With regards to the beef wellington the pastry on the outside was thick and almost reminiscent of a cornish pasty rather than a delicate puff which encapsulates the meat, the mushroom duxelle seemed to lack any sort of flavour and the grape reduction sauce lacked any depth whatsoever. The only word that comes to mind when looking to describe the dish is stodgy. The fillet of beef in the wellington was more towards and medium well which made the fillet somewhat chewy. And I was surprised to see that there weren’t any salt and pepper mills on the table to try and force some flavour into the food – quite unfortunate.
The starters were similarly lack lustre, I felt like we hardly got any meat on the ribs as they had been overcooked and the glaze was a runny sauce instead of a reduced sticky affair. The tacos were a similarly sad affair, suffice to say that fillet was overcooked and chewy. The side dishes of the veg and creamy potatoes were pretty decent.
I chose to cut my losses and didnt have the heart to stay for dessert. I had high hopes for the resteraunt, they seemed to have all of the elements to make the place an amazing eatery and gastronomic experience but unfortunately failed in the execution. Hopefully they can improve and maybe I caught them on an off day. It was however new years eve and they seemed to be building a que with people looking to come in as we were leaving. It seems like a popular place.
The steaks were well-prepared and enjoyable, and while the prices are on the higher side, the quality made it worth it. Service was a little slow during my visit, but it was still courteous and acceptable overall.
The restaurant itself was clean, tidy, and well maintained, and I appreciated that it was child-friendly, making it suitable for families. Overall, a good dining experience and one I’d happily return to.
We opted for the Chef’s Platter in the end, which consists of lamb chop, beef ribs and chicken wings. All are delicious, lamb chops gives a nice kick of spices whilst the beef ribs boasts very soft and tender meat.
Overall calm atmosphere and a modern classy decor. Note that this is a Halal steakhouse and no alcohol is served, mocktails are available and only filter water is served here.
I ordered a medium ribeye, but it was extremely dry and tough. The quality of the steak was disappointing and did not seem fresh or premium.
We were also told there was no tap water available, only still or sparkling bottled water, and the bottle had no visible label, which felt unusual.
The service overall was not attentive. Unfortunately, I won’t go again!
1) We couldn’t pay our bill with more than 4 Cards (we were told this at the end of our meal, should of been informed beforehand so some of us could have gotten cash), I’ve never been to any place that accepts large parties/groups that doesn’t allow the bill to be split for each person no matter the size of the party.
2) Was told that we couldn’t take off the Service charge (If we could then it might have been miss information from the person trying to handle the bill)
3) Do Not order the Karma Cola, it is the 2nd worst off brand cola drink I have ever had. 3 of us ordered this and the other 2 that had it like me barely touched it it was that bad, I gave it a good go but it wasn’t enjoyable.
Food was good however, I enjoyed what I ordered but one of my side disks was forgotten a out and I had to go up and ask for it.
I didn’t mind the no alcohol drinks as I don’t really drink myself. Did ask if it was possible to bring your own as I wanted to bring some wine as one of the team members had their birthday the same day as the Xmas party, but didn’t hear back from Ribeyes till 2 days AFTER the date we went. (The answer was a no) When waiting for food one of our team had bought a Monster with then as they had just had a long shift, a staff member informed them that alcoholic drinks aren’t allowed in the restaurant. However Monster is a energy drink not a alcoholic drink so I dont see the issue with this drink being bought in, they did go outside to finish it after being told this.
All in all, I don’t really see why the items should of been as expensive as they were as there wasn’t really anything amazing about them. It was just good food really and a nice looking restaurant.
