1st time in, definitely a mom & pop type place. didn’t know how I felt about the lighting as soon as we came in. The mood seemed off. We did not order any appetizers, we went straight for main course. They brought out some homemade bread but was hard as a rock! So sad. The dinner itself was just okay, the portion and quality of the meal did not match the prices on the menu. The only highlight was the homemade desserts. Which it is sad to say because we really wanted to like this place and because of all the great things we’ve heard of this restaurant. Not sure if we will come back, maybe for dessert and coffee but that’s probably about it. Was really hoping the food would have tasted better. Spent $90 for dinner and dessert, no alcohol either! Definitely would not go out of the way to come here. Try at your own risk.

One of my friends had recommended La Bona Pasta . In his opinion he said the food was great. With that , I figured that I must try this place.
I wanted to take some close friends out to dinner. They are pescatarian eaters . My wife is a vegetarian and I’m an eat anything kind of a guy.
The restaurant is in a strip mall , tucked away in a corner. Coming in the place around 5:30, the place was empty. Very dark and my wife noticed the ceiling had many water stains. Not a good sign from the start.
We all are not drinkers so it was just water with lemon. We were given complimentary garlic bread and heart shaped rolls which were warm and delicious.
My wife isn’t a big eater . She ordered Pan-Seared Vegetables Del Giorno with a kid size bowl of spaghetti. She enjoyed her meal. Our friend Carmen ordered Eggplant Parmigiana. She enjoyed it but thought the Eggplant should have been sliced thin . Texture can take your meal to the next level. Our friend Mike ordered one of the specials of the night . Lobster Ravioli & Scallops and a bowl of Soup Del Giorno ( Clam Chowder). Mike(y) like the commercial says “I like it”. I had the Vitello (Veal) Parmigiana with Minestrone Soup. My take is food was good but portion was small for the price.
We had Tiramisu and Oreo Cake that was excellent.
Service was friendly but invisible, and very slow. No one came around for refilling our water, had to ask for that and more bread. Food way too long to get. No one asked us how everything tasted.
As I mentioned about my meal that prices don’t fit portion amount for all of our meals. Good food but not worth a future visit.

Ate at La Bona Pasta’s monthly Wine Dinner, a 5 course meal with wine pairings. The food and sauces are so delicious and are not the ordinary standard Italian dishes. The service is great and would tell all to go for their wine dinners as well as their outstanding regular dining. Great food, service and atmosphere.

What a pathetic excuse for a business. Turns out they don’t actually like money or helping their customers. Placed an order on Uber Eats at 4 PM right when they opened and then got a message saying, “Sorry, La Bona has cancelled your order as they can’t get to it.”

You can’t get to it? Really? Are you high? You’ve been open 10 mins and completing a small order was too stressful for you?

Never again.

If you love Italian, you’ll love this place not only is the food delicious but the atmosphere is great. The chef here knows what he’s doing creating one masterpiece after another bringing a loved one or the family guaranteed a great time. Don’t forget about dessert. Five stars does not do justice for this restaurant.

This place is quite unassuming at first, easily missed from the street. But missing this place is a huge mistake! Me and the wife tried this place today and were blown away! The food was so amazing, and the atmosphere was very quiet and romantic. They offer a huge selection of booze, and while the menu isn’t as big as the chain restaurants that cook “italian” what this place does offer is a far superior quality of food. Everything from the bread to the pasta is on a completely different level. This place is a definite must try for anyone looking for authentic Italian food.

If you love Italian food and wine, you MUST experience a La Bona Pasta Dinner with wine pairing event! Four course meal each with a wine chosen for the food followed by dessert. Couple that with great service and atmosphere… molto bene!

Granted that we showed up right as it opened, the small cozy restaurant is set for romantic dining with its dim lighting and small tables. The service was quick and waiter was attentive the entire time we were there. The starter salads were a little underwhelming but the pasta dishes made up it. Its a hidden gem for those who seek a nice italian restaurant away from all the hubbub of trying to find a place to eat during the dinner rush.

I wanted to support a local restaurant for my 30th birthday and decided to try La Bona Pasta. It did not disappoint! I love Italian food and am very picky, but the food here tasted like I was invited into someone’s home and they wanted to cook me a nice dinner. You can tell the food was made with love and I enjoyed every bite. I ordered the lamb special and that sauce was heavenly! I also tried the bruschetta and stuffed mushrooms which were delicious and full of flavor. I ordered the chocolate mousse cake to go and it is amazing! I’m eating it as I write this review. I’ve lived in the West Valley since I was 9 and can’t believe I didn’t try this place sooner. Thank you La Bona Pasta for making my birthday special. I look forward to coming back and trying more yummy food.
