We came here because of the organic options on the menu and also wanting a simple breakfast.

They absolutely rocked it. Fantastic breakfast, cozy atmosphere, festive music on at the right volume and happy waitresses and chefs.

The coffee is nice and classic diner style dark brew. Stays hot in the mug and they come around to top you up.

Would definitely come back!

I’ve been here three times now. The first and second time I had the two egg breakfast with potatoes. I really liked that dish because it was simple yet tasted amazing. The second time I came, I got a black bean bowl with an egg. It was not the most flavorful and I feel like the dish was carried by the guacamole and pico de gallo.
The service is decent. The place is usually busy so it can be hard to ask any questions or ask for something once your waiter leaves. It can take a second to get a table and get your order in. Other than that, the staff is friendly.
It’s a decent place, overall.

I got a green smoothie and it was really good. I also ordered a black bean burger and it was so tender that it sort of fell apart as I was eating it. It had delicious flavor, and I liked the corn salsa and spinach on top. Tasted healthy and very good! Was a good place to stop into for a quick lunch on my break from work. The staff were friendly and the place seems to get pretty popular around lunch time, but my food was still ready pretty fast. They packed up everything to go for me incase I ran out of time to eat and didn’t give me a hard time about it at all. I’d go back!

First Bite is one of those dangerous places… because once you go, you can’t stop thinking about it. I’ve been five times now (who’s counting? definitely not me ) and I still regularly daydream about their gluten-free French toast with homemade whipped cream and berries. Like… it lives rent-free in my head.

The bacon? Absolutely elite. You can order it exactly how you like it — and somehow they actually get it right every time. Crispy dreams do come true.

And let’s talk about the real star of my mornings: their oat-milk dirty chai. Hands down the best one around.

The staff is always genuinely kind (not fake-nice), and the kitchen crew is literally smiling while throwing down behind the scenes. You can feel the good vibes — and the good food.

Bonus points for a fantastic gluten-free menu that doesn’t feel like an afterthought.
Cute spot. Amazing food. Happy people.
First Bite… you have officially ruined other breakfast places for me. ☕️

Stopped in for lunch while attending the Ann Arbor Art Fair. I ordered the Mediterranean salad, added chicken and an iced salted caramel cappucino. It was a lite lunch which I enjoyed. My server was very friendly. I saw a man whom I believe was either the manager or owner greeting and speaking to people which was nice.

While visiting Ann Arbor I went to First Bite for an early lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. Nice atmosphere and friendly people, but I especially liked the healthy options. They serve breakfast and lunch. I ordered the beet burger with their house potatoes. Their burger sauce was delicious. . Gluten-free options are available as well. Everything tasted fresh and homemade.

They also have a full coffee bar and a selection of smoothies. Highly recommend.

The food was phenomenal. Our family is gluten free. The fluffy French toast was indeed fluffy, not too sweet, topped with fresh, ripe fruit. The omelets were delicious and filling. The potatoes, were perfectly cooked and seasoned. We also really enjoyed the gluten free bread. The service was great, very friendly and personable. The atmosphere was cozy, and they had good music.

Not really looking forward to going back here. I’ve been coming religiously every week and know Billy personally and thought we were cool. Grace ordered me to get up from a 4-top table I took this morning AFTER a party of 5 came in, and I didn’t want to sit in the back (the back tables are way in the back right by the bathroom door, gross) or at the “bar” window where I couldn’t even see out of because they still have Christmas paintings on the window, and I also didn’t want to see demonstrators in front of the county building during my meal. So no matter how many $5 tips I left under my empty coffee cup every week for the past fall and winter, I was just seen as one body for one meal instead of as a valued individual in the community giving loyal business to a local restaurant. I especially loved how the guy at the end of the table they sat down rubbed it in that I had to move for them. He was so rude. The manager could have just told them they had a wait of 20 minutes, but whatever. Won’t be back. Food is good though.
