Located in the heart of downtown Albany at 40 N. Pearl Street, The Pearl Street Diner has been a staple in the community for many years, serving up hearty meals, hot coffee, and genuine hospitality. We’re a true neighborhood diner — where city workers , college students, families, long time locals, and New York State Capitol all come together around the table. Our philosophy is simple: keep it fresh, keep it consistent, and keep it real. From classic breakfasts to comfort-food lunches and daily specials, everything we serve is made with care and meant to feel like home. More than just a place to eat, The Pearl Street Diner is proud to give back to the Albany community as well! The spirit of a true American owned small business.

Welcome back to @SimplyZakkai! Today, we’re diving into the one and only Albany staple: Pearl Street Diner! ️
Serving the community since 2010 (and formerly known as the Ten Eyck Cafe), this spot is a true local treasure. Here’s a look at the incredible spread I tackled today:
Grilled Chicken Bacon Cheddar Ranch Panini – Perfectly pressed and packed with flavor.
Monte Cristo DLX – The ultimate sweet and savory powerhouse.
Belgian Waffle Combo – Fluffy goodness served with crispy bacon, savory sausage, and eggs.
Sfogliatelle – A flaky, authentic pastry finish that you cannot miss!
Every single dish was truly amazing. For the full breakdown and live reactions, make sure you head over to my video @SimplyZakkai to see the official ratings! ✨
The Verdict:
Food: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
✨ Atmosphere: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Total: 5/5 Stars!
Do yourself a favor and check out Pearl Street Diner—and make sure to tell them SimplyZakkai sent you!
I also want to give a massive shoutout to the owners, Lucia and Tony. They are some of the most outstanding people I’ve met! We had such deep, thoughtful conversations, and even during the heat of a busy lunch rush, the time and attentiveness they give to every single customer is world-class. ❤️
This is more than just a meal; it’s a diner where every bite tells a story!

We came in as a group of six with just 45 minutes before our connecting train to Montreal — and for a minute, we actually thought we’d made it to Montreal already because the service was that good.
They seated us right away, laughed at our jokes (rare skill, 10/10), and somehow had our food out in about 10 minutes. It was hot, delicious, and exactly what we needed before sprinting back to the station.
Instead of panic-shoveling food and running, we actually got to sit, eat, and joke around like normal humans. For a brief moment, we forgot we were on a tight schedule — and that’s saying something when you’ve got Amtrak breathing down your neck.
Pearl Street Diner turned a stressful layover into a smooth snack time. If we’d missed the train, honestly… it would’ve been worth it
Save your money
Edit – They replied. The burrito was mostly folded tortilla on the inside. I wouldn’t have asked for a to-go cup if I was going to be charged. I walked down the street and told 100 people I was waiting for a concert with not to go and spend any money at this diner. Their customer service is indicative of their response.
You can keep the $17 – it was worth $10.
