Man I’ve tried several taco spots in Amarillo and there’s nothing like Birria y Tacos el Rey. It’s authentic and so so delicious. The place is CASH ONLY, but I’d gladly go to the ATM and back for this spot. I really recommend it. My favorite menu items are Quesobirria de Res and Tacos de Asada with everything.
The birria comes with consomé and the asada tacos come with two sauces and caramelized onions.
Pro Tip: Check their FB page to see if they’re open. Most of the time it’s up to date.

Delicious, hot, and fast! Not a bad price either! Best birria tacos I’ve had in Amarillo.. just the smell alone walking up to the food truck is heavenly. Took everything I had not to devour them on the way home & spill birria consomé all over myself. To quote Arnold himself, I’ll be back!

I received the incorrect order and did not discover it until I got home. I returned to the establishment to inform the staff and was treated poorly. Per the window and cook staff I got what I ordered; however, I would not had ordered what I received due to food intolerances. The staff was adamant that I did not order correctly… and only after 30 minutes of wasted time I receive my money back (and I did return the untouched food, as I had no use for it due to food intolerance.) Unfortunately, I won’t be trusting of this establishment to go back. If you go to this establishment I would recommend ensuring they take your order correctly and check the food you receive prior to driving off.

This is my favorite spot for birria in Amarillo. The meat is always tender and the flavors robust. The consomé alone is a treat. Orders come out quick and the service is great. There’s plenty of parking around the truck. I recommend the quesabirria and the birria ramen. This is a Must Try spot.

Seldom does someone make you food, and you can taste the culture of that country that inspired the dish. Very few times have I had food someone else prepared and it blow me away. I mean this in the most genuine, pure way possible. The Quesabirria Tacos from here sent me straight to Jalisco, and I’ve never even been out of the country. I know no better compliment, than when someone gives you food and it sends you to another part of the world. The tastes and the smells were truly beautiful. I’ve never tried birria but drove by the other day to give it a try. I ordered the quesadillas as the initial order. Two sauces were proved: red (Smokey flavored )and green (tomatillo). Both were excellent and I’ll be back.
