I cannot possibly say enough good things about Pancho’s “en la playa” (on the beach) in the golden zone. There are several Pancho’s around town. This one is the king, owned by Francisco “Señor Pancho” Lizarraga- the old man himself.
He believes completely in customer service, and has dedicated himself and his entire staff to their dining experience.
Make reservations if coming on the weekend for dinner – or come really early in time for the fabulous sunset!
Everything on the menu is good. Lots of seafood and meat. The shrimp, of course, in so many ways, is the signature of Mazatlan. However, don’t overlook the steak/chicken/combo fajitas on the sizzling platter, the Platanos Flambé (bananas flambé), the (flaming) Tequila Cheese – that is so yummy, you will be back for more!
The staff headed by Daniel and Freddy are super attentive – lots of appetizers that just appear at your table, the “moonshine”, the Kahlua shot at the end of your meal.
If you had to pick one place – this is it. We have been coming here for over 20 years as November tourists – enjoy!

Pancho’s is such a fun place to go. The vibe is great, drinks are strong, and service is fun. We received shooters at the beginning and end of the meal, both good. The hot and spicy shrimp are to die for. Literally asked if they sold the sauce that goes on it and unfortunately they do not. If they ever decide to bottle it, I will buy it. Only complaint is it a tourist trap but definitely worth at least one visit, if not more for the that experience and that sauce!

Pancho’s on the Beach was a fantastic find.
The service was quick and welcoming, and the food did not disappoint. You can’t certainly tell that customer service is a top priority at Panchos.
This was the perfect place to have dinner and watch the sunset.
My husband loved his fish fillet with Pancho sauce, Pancho shrimp and garlic shrimp, and my Pancho shrimp were full of flavour.

Great place! Violinist on beach. Ordered the rib eye and 3 types of shrimp 2+2+2. 2 panchos- Bacon wrapped and stuffed, 2 garlic and 2 breaded. Both meals were good. Lots of vegetables which I like! Pancho came over for a chat. Cake made there, for desert. Sooo yummy

I’ve been traveling around Mexico for a couple years now with the expectation of this delicious fresh food. I have been let down many places I go. Poncho’s really came through especially with the shrimp 2x2x2. Service is great, atmosphere is great, and you can’t beat the view. If you’re nearby you can stop searching and go ahead and come here.

We will be back often! Best Chili Rellenos I ever had. Too often the Gras vegetal cheese is used and it’s not edible for me. This place knows how to make them the right way. We took extras home for a second meal the following day it was so good. Excellent customer service as well, highly recommend.

Awesome local food….decent prices. The sea breeze is just amazing when you’re sitting facing the beach.
The only mood killer is when the band comes nearby and play their local music… Holy hell they’re loud and then can go on non stop throughout your whole meal. It’s local music, so local that some tourist don’t know how to appreciate and when that happens, it becomes noise… if they tried mixing some mainstream music it would’ve been okay.
but back to the food… A MUST TRY!!! We went twice throughout our stay nearby.

3rd trip back to Pancho’s, and Mazatlan is a stop for the night along the way to Puerto Vallarta. The food is very good, service is great, and so are the sunset! Margaritas are pretty fine, too! We’ll be back next time through Mazatlán!
