I ordered on DoorDash and the food was just not up to taste. The Mac and cheese had red peppers in it (wasn’t good) and I also ordered yams, but as you can see, got double Mac. The oxtails weren’t of good taste either.

This was some of the best jerk food I’ve had in a long time! My container was packed full of food, hot and fresh! I order the jerk catfish and I ate off that plate for two days.

I have enjoyed many meals here over the years, however what I received today was nowhere close to the quality I had become accustomed to. My yams were over cooked and entirely too sweet, and my cabbage lacked flavor, but my chicken was at the standard I’m used to getting. Do better please.

My first and last time getting anything at Tropical Island Jerk Chicken! Their menu is very misleading, having items on the menu, then State they don’t have it. No cornbread, but want to charge $1 for two slices of white bread. The person taking orders don’t know how to take orders. Ordered three dinners, only received two. Get cheated out of my money. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM. Can’t give a rating for the food, because I never got my order, but paid for it.

Tropic Island Jerk Chicken is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Caribbean flavors! I tried the jerk chicken plate, and it was perfectly seasoned, juicy, and packed with that signature smoky, spicy flavor. The sides, especially the rice and beans, were cooked perfectly and complemented the chicken beautifully. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. A fantastic neighborhood spot for hearty, flavorful Caribbean food!

I use to enjoy this spot until this past Saturday 11/1/25. When I scooped up the corn in the container, there was a slimy substance at the bottom potion of the container mixed in with the corn that looks like snot or phlegm. The more I scooped the bottom of the container the more this thick clear substance snot/phelgm appeared. I have pictures and still have the corn for testing if need be. This place should not be missed. The ox tail and curry goat are out of this world, the meat patties are fantastic and the jerk chicken was tender, juicy and the perfect level of spiciness. I will definitely be back!

I was here a couple weeks ago and the food is always a hit the service can be hit or miss. I use to live in the area and would come here often it was good then and still good now. I just suggest they upgrade it get a form of ventilation it was 90 plus degrees the day I came and the lobby area was even hotter their was a very small fan if I blinked too fast I would have missed it. I enjoyed my food but please make the lobby more accommodating for the long wait.

I am a very thorough person and I take time to research for a reason. So it’s very annoying when I see the hours say they are open and then I go to the location and it’s closed. You all need to either be at work on time/ahead of time or fix the hours on Google. This is absurd.
