Portland Teriyaki and Nepali cafe is an unassuming restaurant in a strip mall just off 122nd and Glisan. It doesn’t seem like much from the outside.

This place is a hidden gem! The Momo are so flavorful. I love the dough on each type. The Jhol Momo with chicken filling was delicious spices and came in a big portion. The chili pork momo is so good. The people who helped us were very nice and made it less spicy for us. We both loved it but my spouse was sweating a little haha I have never had panipuri and am so glad I ordered it. The texture was crunchy and fresh. The people helping us were very welcoming and friendly. We ate inside and it was a cozy environment. They seemed busy but our food came out quickly and wow it was amazing. We live nearby but didn’t know about this place until Dumpling Week. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner here. The jhol momos were juicy, plump and full of flavor. The thali tasted very authentic, with a savory chicken curry that really stood out. Overall, we felt the meal offered great value for the quantity and portions. We will definitely be back!

Their momos are like a warm hug on a cold day. Food that is nourishing to the soul, tasty and a cultural experience. The owner informed us that their Thali gives one 24 hours of energy, substantial enough for one to climb a mountain. My friends and I had a great time here last night. We’ll be returning soon and wish to try the whole menu.

I am writing this review after many visits to Portland Teriyaki Nepali Cafe, and as a culinary educator, flavor and cleanliness are always my top priorities. I am very impressed with this place!

The handmade, Kathmandu-style momo dumplings are beautifully crafted, and the friendly service makes every visit enjoyable. The dal bhat is authentic and reminds me of what you would get in Nepal, and the pani puri is perfectly balanced, with the peanuts adding just the right crunch. On the Japanese side, the teriyaki beef with rice is tasty, though slightly sweet for my personal taste.

I highly recommend this cafe for family and friends gatherings, and especially for those who have been to Nepal—if you miss dal bhat, this is definitely the place to reconnect with authentic Nepali flavors.

We stopped in for dinner on our Portland trip and absolutely loved it! The chatpatey, Chicken Jhol MoMo, Chicken Thali, and Chicken Chow Mein were freshly made and packed with authentic Nepali flavor. We also tried other Nepali restaurants nearby, but this one stood out for its authenticity. The family owners are warm and welcoming. We’ll be back on our next trip to Portland!

My friends, we walked into this place on a total whim and discovered great friendship and amazing food. Not only was the service personable, friendly and informative of the dishes available. But every dish lived up to and exceeded expectations beyond my own belief. Was amazing to enjoy a meal with my wife with this amazing restaurants staff and the food they provide! Their dumplings on a level 4 spice was out of this world! Thank you once again!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Hidden Gem in East Portland!

Teriyaki and Nepali Cafe is an absolute delight! Tucked away in EAST Portland, it would be easy to dismiss this place based on its location. Inside the restaurant is nice and clean, and the staff are incredibly friendly! Now, the food here is some of the best I’ve encountered in Portland—and that’s saying something!

We decided to dive into the Nepali dishes this first time (instead of the Japanese cuisine), and wow, were we blown away! Each dish was a perfect blend of textures and flavors, with umami in every bite. Everything we tried was incredibly savory and satisfying.

The momos are a must-try—amazing dumplings!

We can’t wait to return and explore more of the menu. If you’re in the area, don’t miss this fantastic spot. You won’t regret it!
