Stopped in on our way home to Manitoba from camping at Blue Lake, and think this may need to be a regular stop every time we’re going into Ontario now as it’s very close to the MB/ON border, and it had great food with huge portions (my husband said that the Fat Boy Burger was amazing but so big he shouldn’t have ordered a side of fries), a mountain lodge feel for ambience, clean bathrooms, and a fully stocked gift/convenience store. We just docked one star for atmosphere because it was a 30°C+ day outside and other than fans it didn’t seem to have A/C, but may just be because the customers coming and going. They have a huge Adirondack chair for fun pictures and a cute mini playground as well as a beach Volleyball net, so some nice green space to let your dog out on a road trip too, and picnic tables outside as seating options too. A 2 minute walk down the hill behind the restaurant brought us to mini private beach to have a quick view of Granite Lake.

Fantastic family spot with great service! The kid-friendly restaurant has a lovely outdoor area and ambiance. The Pickle Pete’s burger combo, with drink and fries, is unexpectedly delicious—a pickle lover’s paradise. Love this place. Excellent eat in or take out. Delicious food, prepared fast. Big menu and really friendly staff. Inside you’ll experience a cool log cabin where they have setup an old country store, a restaurant and a complete bar to watch the game. They have a full espresso setup for all your specialty coffees (hot and cold). They are licensed too and sell wine and liquor to go (with small restaurant food purchase). So convenient when traveling. They also rent cabins on their lake. Ample parking, just off the highway as you approach Clearwater Bay Ontario from the West.

Highly recommend either as a stop between Wpg and Kenora or a quick 20 min drive from Keewatin! Such a beautiful location to stretch your legs and as a bonus, it’s right on the highway too. The service is top notch and the food clearly made fresh to order. Love the renovations that are being made – preserving the same rustic feel with all the needed upgrades. So happy to see that the back room is now open and boasting a new bar! The Saturday market is small but mighty and has the essentials, including fresh veggies and delicious looking cinnamon buns. And whatever you can’t find out there is inside the store – a great collection of unique gifts! Will definitely be back!

Food is amazing! A bit on the expensive side for a hamburger combo, $23 for the pickle burger, but man, it’s good! The fries are crispy & tasty, and the portions are BIG. Only 4/5 stars for service because you have to order at the counter and pre-pay, including tip. But the service was excellent none the less the rustic decor and waterfall are cool, and the games that are available to play while you wait for your food are a really nice touch. We’ll come here again! Oh, and the gift shop has cool things, too.

I ordered the buffalo chicken ranch wrap. The heat in the wrap was equivalent to jalapeños. I’m not a spicy person, so my tongue was on fire. When I asked about the heat, I was told it was just the buffalo sauce. I know buffalo sauces have different heat levels, but this was at the top. The menu should a flame beside the item or they need to use a less hot one. The staff I spoke to didn’t pass in my concerns to the owner, nor did he come over as he was in ear shout and apologize for the heat. Customer service is not the best.
The little shop that used to have all kinds of knick knacks and souvenirs is gone and the waterfall that was open to everyone, is now behind a glass wall in the lounge. Can’t believe I couldn’t wait to come and eat here

Fabulous food! Yummy homemade burger with fresh toppings. This is one place you can get a variety of Vegetarian meals too. Thank you for being current for those looking for meals on a vegetarian diet. Polite, helpful staff. We will be back.
