Easily some of the best BBQ in Jacksonville. The brisket was perfectly smoked with a great bark, sausage was some of the best I’ve ever had. Make sure to try their sauces, but the meat is so flavorful it barely needs them. 5 stars all the way!” Love the atmosphere at The Bearded Pig! It’s the perfect spot for a casual lunch or a fun dinner with friends. The outdoor seating is great, the service was fast and friendly, and the food arrived hot and delicious. I recently visited The Bearded Pig, and overall, it was a mixed experience.
The ribs were seasoned very well — the flavor was definitely there. However, the meat itself was tough and didn’t meet the “fall off the bone” expectation you hope for when ordering ribs. For barbecue lovers, texture matters just as much as seasoning, and this fell a bit short.
The sweet and sour beans were unfortunately not enjoyable. Even with the various bean combinations, the mix (especially with the onions) wasn’t something I would personally create or order again. The flavor profile just didn’t come together.
The restaurant has a very busy, trendy vibe. It’s clearly a popular spot. Kids are welcome, which is a plus for families. However, parents should be aware that the atmosphere leans heavily toward a trendy adult crowd. Expect revealing attire and plenty of strong language in the room — something to consider if you’re bringing children.
The bathroom wasn’t the cleanest during our visit. While the place was very busy (which may explain it), it would be beneficial for management to have someone regularly check and clean the restrooms — especially since staff were actively cleaning tables throughout service.
On a positive note, all of the servers were very nice and attentive. They consistently checked in to make sure we had everything we needed, which was appreciated.
As a barbecue connoisseur from St. Louis who now resides in Texas — two serious BBQ regions — I have to say my vote goes to ABBQ over The Bearded Pig.

Really good BBQ. Not too many places like this in Jax. We ate the Bearded Poutine and it was really good. Did a platter of ribs, chicken, sausage, and brisket. Sides of Mac n cheese and the sweet potato fries.
The sausage stole the show.
Chicken and ribs were really good.
Brisket was the only item I’d skip next time. Not bad, but not as good as the other items.
Try the pepper vinegar on your ribs and mustard on the sausage.

Amazing quality BBQ together with a great ambiance and beer! Brisket was tender and falling apart and pulled pork was melting in my mouth. Top-notch collard greens and creamy Mac and Cheese. Best BBQ in town!

There were many options in the menu. I got the mac and cheese, the chicken, french fries and the spare ribs. The texture and flavor were 10/10 on everything.
The portions were huge and the food came out 10-15 min with all the stuff myself and friends ordered.
They have a parking lot so parking wasn’t that bad. Staff were very friendly and caring.
Would recommend going here for lunch.

Phenomenal barbecue! I got the brisket and my wife got the ribs. They were smoked and seasoned to perfect perfection.. Their barbecue sauces are really good too.. I recommend the jalapeño poppers and the mac & cheese as well

I ordered a sliced brisket sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese which hit the spot, and the service/wait time was very punctual. Good atmosphere as well. The only issue I had was the lack of parking spaces available due to the lot being small, it took me a few minutes to find a space due to a big party being present. Overall, not bad.

Ate some hog at the bearded hog actually that’s the one thing I didn’t have was hog. I had a little bit of the brisket and a little bit of the chicken and it was all bomb bust down. True smoked flavor and absolutely phenomenal. It’s a walk up service place you have to walk place your order and then go sit your behind down. We sat on the back patio, which was dog friendly amazing and they let you write with chalk on the walls. Had a couple little kids come up and talk to my dog for about 45 minutes and I was like where are your parents overall 10 out of 10 experience really enjoyedeverything except for the hog because I did not try the hog

I’d like to reiterate another google reviewer, they ARE doing the Lord’s work. Really good bbq seems to be hard to find in Florida. It’s like Florida didn’t receive the bbq blessing of the South. But no more! Brisket and pulled pork were delicious, smoky with great bark. Some of the best ribs I’ve ever had. If you haven’t been, go try this gem. All the sides were 10/10 too.
