Reviews
Came back to one of our favs with some friends. Was greeted immediately and sat. Nice big table for 4 of us. Service was great and quick . Forgot to get server name but was excellent . Food came out pretty quick . Got some Firecracker shrimp as appetizer, very good nice and crispy . Got my combination vermicelli and a Thai iced tea with boba . My food was delish and everyone else enjoyed what they got as well. All in all was a good evening with friends and good food .
Enjoy !!!!
We got their shrimp spring rolls, hubby and I got pho and Bun Bo Hue.
Spring rolls were 5/5 – sauce was a perfect balance between hoisin and peanut. Soft and delicious.
First sip of pho broth almost took me out, just pleasant and on point.
This might’ve been THE best Bun Bo Hue I’ve ever had outside of my mother’s. That broth was delicious and everything about that dish was amazing. It was savory, spicy, herbs and everything nice. I could only eat half and took the other half home.
It was one of the best Viet restaurants I’ve been to in all my travel and I understand why they are so packed. Can’t wait to go back when I visit Reno again!
999 Phở is a classic Vietnamese restaurant that draws both Asian communities and local residents, especially on weekends. During peak hours, expect a wait, as the place is always lively and bustling. The interior is simple yet welcoming, decorated with food-themed murals and various artworks on the walls.
The dining system follows a casual flow: seat yourself, order at the table, enjoy your meal, and then pay at the counter before leaving.
I ordered the #11 Beef Broth with Rice Noodles – Combination, which included rare steak, flank brisket, tendon, tripe, and beef balls. This dish offers an exciting variety of textures and doneness levels all in one bowl—a unique experience for pho lovers. Following tradition, they also serve a fresh vegetable plate with lemon, bean sprouts, chili peppers, and basil leaves. Adding them into the hot broth elevates the flavor and creates an incredibly satisfying bite.
The broth itself is rich, flavorful, and deeply comforting, while the generous portion of beef makes it a hearty and filling meal. It’s the kind of pho that brings both comfort and happiness in one bowl.
There are also customization options: for an additional cost, you can add extra noodles or vegetables, switch to egg noodles, or even have it prepared chow fun–style.

Final Thoughts
999 Phở stands out as one of the most authentic Vietnamese restaurants in the area. Between the flavorful broth, generous meat portions, and the traditional accompaniments, it’s a must-visit spot for anyone craving a true pho experience. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait during busy times—it’s worth it!
From the moment we sat down, it was clear they were doing everything right. The staff was attentive, friendly, and on top of things without hovering. The restaurant stayed packed right up until closing, which is always a good sign – and somehow, everything still ran smoothly.
I ordered the broken rice combo and the pho combo, and both were outstanding. The flavors were bold, balanced, and comforting in that way that makes you pause mid-bite and nod to yourself. Honestly, these dishes rival some of the best Vietnamese food I’ve had in Southern California – no small compliment, considering SoCal is basically the Olympics of Asian cuisine.
And a quick but important detail: the bathroom was spotless. To me, that’s the ultimate litmus test. A clean bathroom tells me the kitchen is clean, the staff is dialed in, and the place is run with care – and that care clearly shows in the food.
Fantastic food, attentive service, and a level of quality that feels rare for the area. This restaurant isn’t just good “for Reno” – it’s just plain excellent. I’ll absolutely be back.
We also ordered the Deep Fry Bun, and this was a total disappointment. The dish didn’t look anything like what was advertised on the menu, which is a red flag. The meat filling was very similar to an egg roll filling, which was fine but not what I was hoping for in a Deep Fry Bun.
The service wasn’t great either. I had to track down a staff member just to place our order, and it felt like they were short-staffed or not paying attention to the customers.
Overall, my first experience here was not great.
