Ribs were great. Not a good day for Brisket. Dry, not flavorful, not a good smoke on this today.. Good point is a quality brisket just maybe sitting longer than my liking. Will try again if im in area.

The brisket, French fries, and mac and cheese were exceptional. The chicken was satisfactory. The dessert was outstanding. I would certainly return to sample additional meals.

Great place to eat BBQ. Lots of choices. Service was fast and had no problems. The sauces were delicious. Definitely recommend this place to eat and try their ribs….

Food was mid. Brisket was dry. Cornbread was dry and crumbly. Burnt ends were ok. Pulled chicken was ok. Best thing on the platter was the Mac n cheese. Came here mid day after a brief trip to 6flags and was hungry. Was bout a 15-20m drive. On this day, wasn’t worth it.
Customer service was 50/50. First person we dealt with had a good attitude, acknowledged us when we arrived, said he’d be right with us after a small wait. But the second guy, def had on a bandanna tall white man, didn’t seem to want to be there. His whole vibe was off putting. And lastly the cashier, an older woman, recognized our wait apologized and offered the soft drinks on the house. Which was appreciated. Overall, nothing special about this place after first time visit. Doesn’t make me want to go back. Nothing stood out.

I have to say that this is been one of the worst experiences I’ve had at this restaurant. I’ve only eaten here a few times at this restaurant and I’ve only eaten bears a few times that being said I normally go for the three meat meal, which is $28 and get brisket pulled pork and burn ends. Typically I’ll get mac & cheese for one of my sides and corn for the other and I’ll get two buns to make a little bit of a sandwich a little bit of cheese on the side and that’s about it today. I want to switch it up and asked for a baked potato and I said can we make it kind of loaded and he said yeah and I said well is it gonna be the same price as the normal sides and he said yes, so they make the meal everything like that and I get down to the register and what a $28 meal would cost is now $45 and I said why does it cost so much basically the baked potato because they put bacon on it and cheese bumped it up past aside which the guy never told me that was the case on top of that they’re now ripping people off by charging an extra three dollars for brisket in Burnt ends. Specifically specifying them as specialty meats when this was never the case to begin with I understand a company has to make money but to charge extra for a food item like brisket that normally people get with their meal because you wanna make more money is ridiculous. You set the price for the meals to include all the items that you’re allowed to get and it’s been like that for a long time and now you’re changing it how about this? How about up the prices for the meals to reflect the difference in prices instead of scamming people out of getting something that they want for an additional price which they believed it was already included in their meal like it used to be horrible business practice, and the lady at the counter was incredibly Rude. I won’t be going to bear smokehouse anymore. In fact, I won’t be supporting any of their businesses and I’ll be informing everybody about the change in atmosphere and tone and not just that but just the way that they are doing businesses sketchy and Wrong. Anybody who wants to go and get barbecue do not come to Bear smokehouse there’s other small barbecue joints in the vicinity that deserve your business more than this and at least would probably be less expensive for the price. If you are interested I know there is a barbecue spot in Ellington, Connecticut near Crystal Lake that has delicious food and a reasonable price. I hope anybody who reads this review understands and is just as upset as I am with the ridiculous over pricing and change. Once again, I understand a company needs to make money, but don’t charge premium meat prices for a combo dinner how about just increase the price of the combo dinner to reflect the upscale and price for the meats that everybody normally gets with their dinner. Shame on bears

These Texans were THRILLED to find sweet tea up in New England, quite great sweet tea actually! The mac & cheese was not southerner-approved, I must say. However, the broccoli salad & potato salad were both nice, and the ribs were definitely Kansas City style if that’s your preference!

The price is high for what you get. Portions are small for the price you pay. A rack of ribs no meat 32$. Insane. We got brisket burnt and coleslaw broccoli salad, and four baked potatoes. This combo cost $80. 4 months ago it was $65. The meat was good, but I could eat that pint of coleslaw by myself not much in there. Had to pay extra for cornbread….. and apparently you get a bottle of barbecue sauce for five dollars with the combo and they charge me 8.99. Staff was nice. I just can’t believe the price increase. Went there a couple weeks ago paid $38 for three meats and a drink after the tip. The staff doesn’t control the prices. They work hard. And I hope they are taken care of from all these high prices. With all these locations I’m sure owners are doing great. The food is good but not worth the price. I will not be going back. Unless I have a big savings coupon…. I got this meal for 3 of us.. u fill up on sides before the meat….

I was in the area for work and being from TX, I had to try the local BBQ. The sausage was very good as was the cornbread. The beans could of had a bit more sauce but they were flavorful. I did enjoy the many options of BBQ sauce and condiments.

We came around 5pm on a Thursday and the restaurant wasn’t crowded at all. The serving crew were super friendly, the cashier’s, not so much. The ice wasn’t working and the soda machine wasn’t giving out the Coca Cola. My meat ( pulled chicken and beef brisket) was kinda of warm..but not hot..and kind of good. The collard greens and Mac and cheese were hot and very fabulous, as were the french fries. I’ve been in the past and it was better. Imay be back again, but..not for a while.

Quick service! I got the one meat combo. I really enjoyed the broccoli salad and the prime beef brisket. It wasn’t dry or chewy. The cornbread had a strong honey presence in it which I liked.
