HIDDEN GEM: I’ve driven past this place consistently for 20 years and for whatever reason never considered it. Tonight we decide to branch out from our regular spots and what a delight. No wait, amazing service, food was even better! Cadillac margaritas were great, and the enchiladas were incredible.

No complaints at all, we’ll be back soon. Our other Sparks Mexican spots unfortunately don’t hold a candle to this place. Do yourself a favor and enjoy a great meal here, can’t go wrong!

Stopped here with my Fiancée and we loved it. I had the asada torta and she had the chicken flautes and everything was so flavorful, I also tried a shrimp ceviche and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely this wonderful spot!

Food was decent, wait staff is incredible. Very friendly! Came in with a big group on a weeknight and they had no issues. Fried ice cream dessert was a great idea.

This is the best Mexican food we’ve had since moving to Sparks this year. I ordered takeout on a Saturday afternoon and it was ready in 15 minutes and the service was great. We ordered a chicken burrito meal, the la fuente combination (burrito, taco, enchilada) with shredded beef, and the fried ice cream. Everything was delicious and we will definitely return!

We are on a quest to try every Mexican restaurant in the Reno/Sparks area. Tonight we decided to visit La Fuentes on Baring in Sparks.

Since we tend to dine early, we were the only patrons at that moment. Service was quick and friendly. All service personnel were helping each other so we wanted for nothing.

The wife ordered a carnitas tostada plate. I ordered a bowl of albondigas and a vegetarian salad. The tostadas were on a four inch crispy tortilla with chopped bits of pork, beans, tomatoes, lettuce, tiny drops of crema and guacamole. The wife reports that the tostadas were okay, a bit below average.

The albondigas soup was good. The vegetarian salad was not some much. However, my weird taste buds demanded that I combine the two dishes. With flour tortillas, the mashup turned into something that I enjoyed.

The interior was the standard Mexican cultural display. The booths are uncomfortable due to the high seat height and short seat. Stick to the tables.

We will probably try again if we are passing by but not a destination restaurant.

La Fuente serves reliably good Mexican food, with some meals in the “you should really try this” category. And they are friendly and efficient to boot.

I have tried a few things on the menu, but because I’m predictable, I always go back to the shredded beef enchilada.

Also: the chips and salsa are winners.

I wasn’t a big fan of the food. The carne asada burrito had a lot of hard pieces in it and lettuce. I think the food is very middle of the road Mexican. Service was really good and so was the atmosphere but there’s a lot better places in reno.

The restaurant is really cool. Family owned and operated. I’m all about that, especially since the staff was so nice..

OK, so go here for the good service. This place has large portions and the food is alright. I didn’t like it, it was much too ‘smothered’ and heavy. However, if you want alot of heavy food, I would recommend this place. Next time I go back, I might try and ask for less sour cream, guac, etc.

Right when i walked through the doors I was greeted by a nice older gentleman, think he was the owner or manager, not sure but none the less it was a great way to start. I ordered chicken flautas. Would come back for the service alone. It felt like i was family the way the treated me. The food was delicious as well!

A little pricey and the food is simplistic but decent. Excellent service and great interior décor. I had the #16) La Fuente Combination consisting of one burrito, one taco, and one enchilada with rice and beans.

Suggestions: a sprinkle of pico de gallo and a dollop of guacamole would go a long way on this fairly plain plate that costs $19.95.
