A bistro of the Gallatin College Culinary Arts program, Thyme Student Bistro provides great meals prepared and served by students. Open to the public in the old Hannon dining hall, their price is lower and their quality is better than the Union Market (SUB food court). There is only one entree per day, with previous items bring shrimp jambalaya with blue corn bread and chicken and garlic sausage with succotash, mashed potatoes and kraut. In addition, drinks and deserts are available at an additional $1-$3.
Today I had the “smoked chicken and garlic sausage with an early spring succotash, creamy mashed potatoes, and kraut” as well as a chocolate cream puff. The entree was delicious apart from the succotash and the cream puff was amazing. I was quite satisfied, especially for a total of $7.
The hours and location also lends oneself to attending the free concerts in Norm Asbjornson Hall at 12:50. I have found this a very sophisticated way to spend a Friday lunch, especially on a college budget.

yummy food, great atmosphere, fun experience! just need to plan on a full hour to get in and out… only open fridays during spring semesters
