I tried their veg udon which was good. Their sauce was not at all spicy as they mentioned. Although I wanted spicy, but that’s fine. Also Had their potato fry which was sweet so not my taste.

I’ve had Marugame Udon in Asia and this spot is just as good! Ordering is pretty easy. Just line up and let the cook know what you want to get and they prepare it on the spot. Your order will be placed on a tray where you can slide them until you meet with the cashier. Mid way, you can get side dishes and toppings. My favorite side dishes are katsu and croquette.

They have big selections of udon and rice bowls to choose from. My favorite have been the curry nikutama and the regular nikutama. The udon noodles are cooked to perfection; it has that perfect bite! The broth for both were flavorful! If you like spicy, make sure to ask the cashier for some chili.

Highly recommend signing up for their reward program through Marugame Udon application on your smartphone.

My only suggestion for this place is to add a big sign or to have staff remind people to bus their own table. During my visits, they were busy and some people just left their bowls on the table without cleaning up after themselves. This is irritating and causing people not being able to use the tables, especially during peak hours. Not the establishment’s fault, but additional sign or reminder from staff would go a long way to ensure smooth dining experience.

It’s hard to beat Marugame for a quick bowl of reasonably priced noodles

The broth has good flavor and the noodles are chewy and taste fresh.

We went for sides like the tempura and croquette, but it turned out to be too much food. Next time either share the noodles or forego the sides.

I’ll be back.

Fun to have this in the Northwest, having first had such tasty udon in Honolulu. Nikutama is definitely most loved in our family, but the curry nikutama is a close second. I was expecting busy lines, but service moves pretty fast. Enjoy!

Stopped by on a Friday just a few mins past 11am when they open. Waited about 5 mins in line while we studied the menu to make our selections. The Nikutama Udon Noodle dish was very tasty; however, the noodles were slightly over-cooked. I accepted the offer of a small paper cup of Gekikara Fireball but was surprised that they added a $.75 surcharge for this hot spice. Also ordered the Premium Tendon Tempura but was disappointed that the Tempura was not crispy and the chicken was too greasy. The quality of the cooking here is not where it should be for the prices paid. We’ll not be back.

I got the curry nikutama regular, 1 shrimp tempura, and the spicy fireball paste. Total was $20 which is a bit insane IMO for a fast casual place, but it did taste good. Wouldn’t come here all the time but it’s good and reliable, just a little expensive

Fireball paste is not too spicy, I added 75% of it and that was perfect for me

Good food but I think we were misled by our cashier. We saw that there was a promotional deal for Lunar New Year for one specialty beverage per brown of udon noodle but when we tried to claim the deal at checkout the cashier told us it was one per transaction instead and so only said we could get one despite having purchased 6 bowls for our large family.

I got the creamy broth and it was really nice and the udon noodles were cooked perfectly. Tempura was also great with a crunchy outside. Also the calamansi drink was tasty!

An updated it review on April 12th 2025.

I can genuinely say i loved this place, Quick answer if you are reading reviews to see if you should come, do so, come in and enjoy, it’s great.

There are “bad” things to mention so stick around,

The “bad-not so good- the ok” :

●The tables are very bad, very wobbly, they should seek a solution to that.
●The shrimp, chicken tempura are okey, they are not super tasty, which I think the chicken could be way better if they seasoned the chicken prior doing all the cooking, shrimp maybe too, but yeah there’s that.
●Gyozas are okey, not super tasty either.
Adding the gyoza sauce to the tempuras and gyozas does help tho, but it could get lot better I’m sure.

Now, the GREAT”
●The “tamago/egg” tempura, OMG, it was extremely delicious, I loved it, you must must get it.
●Squid, this is also I must try, I was very good.
●the Udon was great too, I am very pleased with the flavor.
●the ambient is great, staff is slavery friendly, energy felt good at the kitchen.

What got my by surprised:

The way they serve, is like a dinning facility where you get a tray and get served, that was fun, more efficient I felt.

At the end, we spend little over $45 dlls.

I will be back for sure, my favorite Udon restaurant for sure
