I gave him the gift card number and he said the number was invalid. He read the number back to me and after I corrected it (he had entered 3838 instead of 2838) the card was accepted. I still had a balance of $8.19 and told him that I would pay it in cash when the driver arrived. He said the pizza would be delivered in 30-40 minutes. After placing the order I went into the other room to let my housemates know when it would arrive and when I got back to my phone I saw that I had a VM from someone named John at Domino’s. The VM said that the order could not be delivered because there was an outstanding balance and I needed to call him back.
I called back and was told that the order was cancelled because of the balance and I would have to place it again. I said “And what kind of discount are you going to give me?” John said “What?” I said “What kind of discount are you going to give me? Your employee screwed up and I think I should get a discount because my pizza was supposed to be here already.” He sad “I’ll see what I can do.” I said “OK, then do it.” He said “Do what?” And I said “You said you’d see what you can do about the discount, so do it. How much of a discount are you going to give me because your employee screwed up?” He said “I’m not going to give you a discount because my employee did not screw up and I called you and left a voice mail and you took too long to call back, so it’s your own fault your order was cancelled” I said “Your employee DID screw up. It’s not MY fault the pizza wasn’t delivered. I told him that I’d pay the balance to the driver in cash, and you said yourself that he didn’t put that down and that you “didn’t get to it in time”.”
John was very rude to me and even hung up on me while I was trying to decide if I wanted to give them my business or just throw the gift card away and forget about ever going to Domino’s again.
I called back a few minutes later and asked for the manager. Turns out “John” IS a manager, so I told him that I was going to go on the website and file a complaint and go online and give them negative reviews and he said “Go ahead.”
