Tunks Cypress Inn is a true Louisiana gem. Incredible Caiun food, fresh seafood, and bold flavors that feel homemade and authentic. The atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming, with friendly service that makes you feel like family. Every visit is consistently excellent–well worth the drive and a must-stop for anyone who loves real Louisiana cooking.

Tunks is a Family Owned restaurant. The people there are very friendly and the Food is Awesome. It also has a Bar down stairs off the Lake. Beautiful Place.

Had a great time. Tried the blackened alligator, chargrilled oysters, boiled shrimp, and Louisiana style crab cake. Monica was a really nice bartender and the food was outstanding and very fairly priced.

My husband and I treat our selves to tunks every once in a while. It’s one of those restaurants that we go to for a very fun date night to listen to live music.

This past time we visited I did get sick. I ordered boiled shrimp, I’m not really a fan when grainy seasoning is put on the outside of the shrimp but I tolerate it. The shrimp itself wasn’t hot but wasn’t cold. Idk, I ate one, was immediately put off by it, and got sick throwing up in the bathroom. I’m not sure if it was the salt in the powder seasoning left on the outside or just the shrimp itself.
The staff was kind to refund the plate. I was told that the shrimp wasn’t doing too good that night. It wasn’t that the shrimp tasted bad like shrimpy, it was just salty and a weird temperature. I wouldn’t go there if you’re looking forward to a nice hot or over ice boiled shrimp plate.
We also got fish, the tartar sauce that came with it was warm

Amazing food, great customer service and nice atmosphere! This place has some great Gator and Quail ! We came here to celebrate an anniversary and really enjoyed ourselves. The food tasted amazing and really God portion sizes. There are 2 levels, of the restaurant. The top floor is the restaurant setting area and the under floor is the music band and outdoors area. People also can dock up thier boat and order. This place is always packed so recommend making a reservation before coming, otherwise expect and hour wait.

Stunning Family owned business with AMAZING food & gorgeous lake views!!

I have been eating at this restaurant for 30+ years. EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS!. There are tons of options to choose from with different specials every night. If you are looking for the best Louisiana style restaurant with seafood, burger, and pasta options, you won’t be disappointed. Make sure you try the fried green tomatoes. They are my favorite appetizer.

Great prices and location (right on the water). We dined upstairs for dinner and they were really busy and short staffed. The food was good but everything was overly covered in sauce(s), I could barely taste the fish. I recommend the fried onion rings!

Last time I ate here was in ’87 during a manager’s meeting in Alexandria. This time thru, the wife and grandson were with me. Still the same great service and great food. My grandson wanted to try the fried Alligator, he liked it and thought it was the coolest meal he ever had. Thank ya’

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!! We stopped in on a road trip through Louisiana and wanted some good local food. Did not disappoint. Josh was our server and he was polite and friendly. To start we got the fired pickles jalapenos and onion strings triple starter and it was a dump truck of fried goodness. That was a meal by itself. We got the big Seafood platter, snd steak and shrimp for the main course… mind blown! Make your dreams come true and eat here. Oh, and the view of the lake was relaxing.
