I should have just kept away.

I figured after a year or two I would try this place again since the owner was very rude to me and my teenage niece in the past.

Prices have gone up, and quality continues to go down. When I placed my order and heard a microwave, I knew I should have just left. One thing that was good was the pancakes.
However, the reheated biscuits and fried potatoes with a tasteless gravy were horrible. Biscuits were mushy but hard around the edges, and the fried potatoes were the same. Definitely had to add salt and pepper for some flavor to the reheated gravy. The coffee tasted watered down, the creamer was not a non dairy creamer, and once in my coffee, it had chunks.
The sugar containers don’t dispense because of moisture. The chairs are mostly worn out, and fabric or whatever on them is torn, and cushioning is split. Just seems like an eyesore inside the place.
The sad part is that after leaving this review, I’ll be harassed by the owner, most likely. It just sucks that this is the only diner in Sumner. Had high hopes that things have changed, but they haven’t.

Great place for breakfast! I come once a year and the owner remembers me and my order! Make sure you add a couple pancakes to any breakfast order! Can’t wait to come back next year!!

As always they provide a healthy plate of food regardless of what you order. The staff is friendly and courteous.

The food is cooked fast and comes out fast. Great flavors in many different kinds of breakfast and lunch plates.

I recommend if you’re in Sumner Illinois that you stop here for breakfast or lunch and have a feeling meal.

One of my favorite little places to eat! The owner is always super sweet and friendly! My kiddos LOVE her breakfast food.
“She is a master sandwich builder”- my 7 year old.
“She makes better pancakes than you, mom”- my 9 year old.
My coffee is always hot & food is fresh.
Very clean, updated, lobby to relax and eat in!
Super affordable! (And her cookies and cakes are also phenomenal and reasonably priced)

Potatoes and gravy are amazing. Cute small town place that’s family owned. They made Spiderman donuts for my nephews birthday on Saturday also. I’m very impressed with their work. The customer service in great. Absolutely loved the way the restaurant is decorated inside and out. I’ll definitely put this on my go to list when I’m in town.

The atmosphere and food were appealing and appetizing. The waitresses were accommodating and their attitudes, positive. Nothing is perfect in this life, but I would gladly repeat the experience and rate them with a 5 star.
