We stumbles on this humble, family restaurant by accident…Boy are we glad we did! Wish they were closer to where we live. My husband and I both had the french toast, which was tasty. He had eggs and I had a sude of corn beef hash. We thoroughly enjoyed everything, which is hard to do with us both being chefs. It’s a not so hidden gem as it was packed on a weekday, but turned over fast. Pricing and portions were both good. Highly recommend and pray that we somehow find our way in this neck of the woods again!

My daughter and I had the pleasure of dining at Gritz, and I can confidently say it was one of the best breakfast experiences we’ve ever had! From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere made us feel right at home.

Our waitress, Ashley, was absolutely wonderful—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. She made sure everything was perfect from start to finish.

We ordered pancakes, biscuits, grits, eggs, sausage, and of course, some classic southern sweet tea—and every single bite was amazing. The pancakes were fluffy and flavorful, the biscuits were perfectly soft, the grits were creamy and seasoned just right, and the eggs and sausage were cooked to perfection. The sweet tea was pure southern comfort in a glass—sweet, refreshing, and absolutely delicious.

Gritz truly captures the heart of Southern cooking, and with service as excellent as Ashley’s, it’s a place we’ll be coming back to again and again. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a warm, flavorful, and unforgettable meal!

Overall we were very pleased with our dinning service. Food and service were good. My party enjoyed their food also. Love the pancakes. We would recommend and will be returning to eat again. I believe they can get very busy so plan accordingly. My little also received some coloring pages-which we appreciated.

What a cute country breakfast spot. We are here with family last week and really enjoyed the visit. We were able to walk right in with no wait for a table (party of 7!). The food was perfectly prepared with southern options we all enjoyed. I really loved the fluffy butter biscuits. The service was excellent. We had our order taken correctly, promptly, and respectfully. We definitely recommend this location for your sit-down breakfast meals. We will visit again

Great food and even better service. The staff makes you feel like family, which is why they have so many “regulars” eating there every day. Try the City Sampler if you’re hungry!

Stopped on our travel from Athens GA to Tallessee Alabama to get lunch. The atmosphere was great. Food was good and the service was even better. I had the Reuben sandwich and my husband had the cubed steak. We shared the southwest egg rolls. The waitress learned we rode our motorcycle and being a rider herself, she asked to pray with us before leaving. This is a local gem!

Southern soul on a plate! Huge portions, flavors that slap, staff that treats you like family—and boom, your food’s out before you can blink.

I’ve been meaning to try this place for awhile now so today was the day. It was very crowded, but not unusual for a Sunday morning. Once I got the attention of a server, who apologized for wait, I directed to the counter to place a to go order. I ordered the following items: omelette, French toast, bacon, sausage, smoked sausage biscuit, kids pancake, and of course GRITZ. With that name, they have to be good and they were done well. All good items were prepared well and tasted great. I spent less than $40 to feed 2 adults and a 3yr old with an adult appetite. I’ll definitely be returning to try a few other items.
