I ordered a lot and everything was really good, also the staff was really nice, they really guided me what to order and how much quantity should i order for my party and that was it. Really good experience, The Chef, The Server and The Manager all were very kind and polite.

I am from Montreal, but was in Ottawa and felt like having indian food. And I discovered an amazing restaurant : Royal Indian Cuisine, located on Alta Vista drive, near Bank street. Inside the decor was ok but timid for indian style, nothing on the wall, no statues, but regardless you find inviting tables in a spacious settings. The dining menu is impressive, lots of choices, any appetites would be satisfied. We ate like kings, the food was amazing, wonderful, fresh, so tasty. The friendly service was very nice, explaining that all dishes were made fresh, nothing frozen, made by the chef when ordered. And the chef visited our table and received our appreciation and compliments for that succulent supper. Truly a jewel of India in Ottawa. And when we got our bill, we were shocked : so affordable, we could have paid double and still would have been happy. This is a place to visit, often when in Ottawa. We’ll be returning customers for sure because so many dishes remain to be sampled. I am a foodie that love: Royal Indian Cuisine.

The food was delicious. The Naan was so flaky and crunchy. We had chicken biryani and Sarso ka Saag, Chana Masala with Naan.
The cucumber raita was delicious.

I tried this place and here’s my honest review. (Order Uber Eats)
I really loved the tikka masala sauce, it was genuinely very good.
The chicken samosas were also great: generous portions and very filling. Honestly, that alone was enough for me as a full lunch.
The biryani rice was nicely spiced and fragrant. However, I didn’t like the addition of green bell peppers, and the chicken didn’t seem fully cooked to me.
The butter chicken was a miss for me. The sauce was extremely runny, which I didn’t understand, and I couldn’t really find the classic butter chicken flavors.
The garlic naan was very good, but the cheese naan wasn’t generous enough with the cheese.
Overall, it’s still a good and comforting option when you’re craving Indian food.

I recently ordered sweets from this restaurant and was disgusted to find visible mold on the items. Even worse, there were clear signs that someone had attempted to scrape the mold off with their fingernails before packaging. This is an unacceptable health violation.
Save your money and protect your health – avoid this place entirely.

The food is uniformly excellent and has been every time we have eaten it: lots of flavour and a bit of heat but not enough to drown out the flavour. Generous portions. Beef vindaloo is a bit gentle by Indian tastes but fine for us. Beef tender. Fish fresh. Chicken perfect. Small, young staff but helpful. Nice ambience but chilly in winter: a door does not fully close. They are not fast, probably a good thing. We deal with this by mostly doing take-out and waiting at home.

I tried their weekend buffet ($27+tax) and had a surprisingly good time here.
Started my meal with some mouth watering pani poori (the pani was ), samosa and veg dumpling (tasty)
The main course had some veg curries such as veg korma, chana/chole, paneer masala, daal which were all okay
The non veg had butter chicken, tandoori chicken pieces, goat nihari
Served with basmati rice, veg pulao (was tasteless) and hot butter naan (really good)
The service was not the fastest but average. the naans became cold and tikka was not fresh. Butter chicken was good!
The chef came and asked us how the food was once and the server poured water in our glasses just once.
They have a no food wastage policy that charges you 50% extra per person or plate if you do fill up your plate more than you can eat, which is quite appreciable.
Overall a decent experience but I don’t think the price justifies the limited menu here. (Put some biryani please)

Totally amazing. Fresh and sooo tasty. Tandoori chicken was the most moist I’ve ever had. And the muligatoni soup was superb. But the best was the price. Blown away!

21-NOV-2025: Another fantastic meal after a long day driving! Thanks, Royal Indian Cuisine!
I sadly do not live close by anymore, but I make a point to order whenever I am in the area. The curries are to die for, really reminds me of home.
The service is excellent. The man who runs the front counter is very nice.
No complaints whatsoever about the taste, price, or portions. My only gripe is the parking.
