Food was not great, 24 hours later and I still feel a bit sick from it!
Checked the food safety rating on king county’s website and this place has a “okay” rating which means it meets the bare minimum – I can see why!
Considering the price of the dishes $$ compared to other places on Capitol Hill I am staggered this place is a success.
We were at the nearby urgent care waiting for someone and wanted someplace nearby. This was open later on a Sunday so we stopped in.
We ordered the pad thai and pad see ew, each with tofu and 2 spice.
They were delicious. The pad thai was different than I’ve had other places and now I will be comparing everything to this one. The pad see ew was perfect. Again, better than others I’ve had, hands down.
The 2 was slightly spicier than anticipated, but not a complaint at all. The flavors were all perfect, and I’ll be back for sure.
The staff was so kind! Highly recommend them and this place!
The food, while good, tends to have a very mild taste. If you’re someone who enjoys strong flavors, I recommend asking the staff to add more sauce or seasoning to your dish. This simple adjustment can make a significant difference in your dining experience.
Food was tasty so will be back. Also lunch combo is valid on weekends. This is rare as most are only on weekdays. The lunch combo is a good value. The food does come out slow.
The two stars here isn’t spicy at all ( about sirracha level).
You can tell a lot by ordering the tea!
Ordered the Pad Gra Pow chicken with brown rice, Angel Asparagus, Calamari, Tom Ka soup, & Jasmine Tea.
The tea came out in a nice ornate, albeit tiny iron pot really meant for a single serving. It also came warm & not really hot at all. And that really explains this place — looks good, but nothing that stands out. Everything that came out would miss a little detail– tea, was pretty but came out luke warm & bitter; Calamari came out crispy but it tasted like dry chicken nuggets; Pad Gra Pow, egg & brown rice was dry; Angel Asparagus, tasted great but the color was flat & the food luke warm.
So the service had the same misses. The waitress was very sweet, remembered to remove the bell pepperd as asked but forgot that we asked for chopsticks. As the food came out without chopsticks, I ended up having to snag a to-go set on my own. They gave us cheap, clear plastic, dollar-store to-go container with a plain paper bag. Did they want us to tip AND work?
“Missing the attention to detail” is my impression of this restaurant. Just check the menu & look for “say sauce” and “prok (*pork)” — you won’t be able to unsee it.
Midas 5-stars – for the atmosphere & kind service.
Midas 3-stars – for the misses on the detail.
