The Short beef ribs are too good.
Beef Pad see eiw is amazing, full of flavours.
Shrimp fried rice was great too.
Also ordered the thai crazy noodles- Full of authentic thai aromatics but little bland if that is your thing, you would love it. I loved it.
Mongolian beef and scallops were great too.
Such a great taste.
Just not a good dining experience so takeaways would be better option.

We recently did take out at China Gourmet and loved the experience! We called for take out super close to closing and they were gracious enough to accept our order.
The food itself was absolutely excellent. My partner says “best lo mein I’ve had since coming to Chicago!” The meat for every dish was super tender and well seasoned. Veggies in the lo mein were a little under cooked but considering how late we called, the food was amazing!
We will definitely be coming back!

I have been eating at this restaurant for years. I pretty much order the same items because my kids are picky eaters. Last night I got my order delivered and fed my family. As I went to get more shrimp fried rice, I scooped out a chunk of rice and lo and behold something with legs sticking up falls out on to my plate. I was so scared I screamed and ran. I asked my mom if she could look and see what it was and she flipped it over with a fork and identified it as a ROACH! I was so disgusted because I had already ate two servings of that rice and this was at the bottom of the container. I immediately took pictures and video footage of what is possibly the most horrific/disgusting restaurant experience I ever had. When I went to take it to the restaurant in the morning to show the manager Lee, she told me they don’t have roaches! I was livid because clearly you do! I brought back 54 dollars worth of food, most of it uneaten because I refuse to eat from a restaurant who would sell/serve me a dead roach. I truly hate when someone insults you after you have an horrible customer experience, especially one like that. I tried to keep my cool but roaches carry diseases and lay eggs! This can harm people! I’m not sure how this happened but I hope they do not continue to serve people until they have addressed their issues! I would not recommend eating here until they have taken a more serious measure to address their pest problem.

Growing up in Massachusetts, most Chinese food spots are Cantonese style with Polynesian influences. Since moving to Chicago years ago, I have struggled to find a Chinese food spot that tasted even remotely similar to the Cantonese style that I know and love. I found this place on a delivery app a few months ago, and oh my GOD! It is exactly what I have been looking for. If you are from New England and you miss the Chinese food, THIS is your spot. The crab rangoons, the beef and broccoli, the marinated pork bits, beef teriyaki and chicken on a stick, ect- it’s all perfect. Alls that’s missing is a PuPu Platter, classic battered chicken fingers, and a scorpion bowl. 10000% will be a long time customer. I am so thankful that this cultures amazing food can be enjoyed no matter where in the world I go!

I ordered the hong kong steak (t-bone) over vegetables this would have been good but the entire dish was overwhelmingly SALTY! Even after rinsing the steak off to remove some of the salt it was still extremely salty! The white rice didnt help cut the salt either! After seeing the picture of the roach in the food in another review i will never return.

They are usually rude but today it was ridiculous. Paid 36 dollars delivery and tip included only to receive “burbon chicken” which was actually just breading with some sort of red sauce no actual meat inside asked for a refund told me I would have to pay another delivery fee for them to bring me a different meal or to bring my refund. I suggested she keep the money and the food I won’t spend another dollar keep your money Panda Express is better and less expensive

Consistently amazing food and service. China Gourmet always gets my order right and delivers it hot and fresh. The staff are super polite and efficient a local favorite for sure!
