very sad
This was my second year visiting the Concord, North Carolina location for New Year’s Eve. When I purchased tickets, I later realized I had accidentally bought tickets for the Concord, California event instead of North Carolina. That’s when I discovered something frustrating: patrons in California were paying the same price we paid, yet their event included a live DJ, balloon animals, face painting, games, trivia, prizes, and more—while the North Carolina event did not include those added experiences.
Despite that confusion and disappointment, what truly stood out was the incredible staff at Dave & Buster’s Concord, NC.
The supervisor remembered my family from the year before, and even though we didn’t have tickets for the correct location, the team went above and beyond to accommodate us. Patrice Watson, A-Jay, and Ty were absolutely amazing—kind, professional, funny, and genuinely committed to making sure my family enjoyed our night. We were welcomed, fed, treated with respect, and able to enjoy the countdown together. Their energy, compassion, and effort made all the difference.
I want to be very clear: Dave & Buster’s Concord, North Carolina did everything in their power to make our night special, and they succeeded. This is not a location issue—it’s a corporate planning issue.
I strongly believe corporate leadership should take a closer look at why New Year’s Eve events are not consistent across locations when customers are paying the same price. Families everywhere deserve the same level of entertainment and value, especially on a night as meaningful as New Year’s Eve.
Thank you to the Concord, NC team for protecting the heart of what Dave & Buster’s is supposed to be: a place where families feel safe, welcome, and happy. Because of you, we’ll continue this tradition—and I hope corporate ensures that every location gets the support it needs to deliver the same quality experience.
I am writing to formally express my disappointment with the treatment my family and I received during our recent visit to your establishment.
We drove over four and a half hours and arrived with a group of approximately 20 family members. We were enjoying ourselves, playing games, and having a good time. At one point, my husband and I decided to order drinks. When I approached the bar, the bartender informed me that she could not sell me two drinks. I calmly stated that I would go get my husband so he could order his own drink. She then said she could not serve anything without my ID. I respectfully explained that my husband was on his way with both of our IDs.
At that point, the bartender responded with a hostile tone, stating, “With that attitude, I don’t have to serve you anything.” I was confused, as I had not been rude, disrespectful, or aggressive in any way. I simply explained the situation. When I turned and asked who she was speaking to that way, she mumbled something under her breath and said, “It’s whatever you want to do,” which felt confrontational and unprofessional.
Because of her behavior, the situation became uncomfortable, and my entire family felt unwelcome. We ultimately decided to leave, cutting our visit short, which was very disappointing after traveling such a long distance and planning this outing.
We came prepared to spend our hard-earned money and enjoy a positive experience, not to be treated rudely and disrespectfully. I hope management addresses this situation, as customer service and professionalism should be a priority in your establishment.
Sincerely,
Ashley Harris
The entrance looks nice, but that’s where it ends. The bathrooms were disgusting and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. The food was cold and came out at different times for our group. Drinks were extremely overpriced for what tasted like sugar water.
The bowling area was pure chaos, with three employees tripping over each other while trying to help guests. Only a handful of employees seemed happy to be there. Our server was genuinely sweet and did her best.
This was my first visit, and I expected something more upscale and adult-oriented. Instead, it felt disorganized, overpriced, and disappointing — more like a Waffle House with games.
I had such a great time at Dave & Buster’s! Ms. Deedee was absolutely amazing so friendly, attentive, and made sure everything went perfectly. The food was delicious, and the whole experience was fun from start to finish. Thank you, Ms. Deedee, for making our visit extra special! I’ll definitely be coming back!
