Legitimately one of the best local restaurants. Their prices are great, the quality of their platters, pizza and everything else is beyond this world. Their rice platters are the best in the business and their food, service and quality are some of the best among the many halal spots I have visited. The flavor in every bite wants me craving more. You can sense the passion in the food.

My husband and I meet here for lunch and we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and patient as we took a moment to decide what we wanted to order. The restaurant was very clean. My husband was able to find a chicken salad that met his dietary needs. I ordered a pizza with the kind of toppings I wanted. The food was freshly made, so don’t expect it to be like fast food. It was so with the wait! The pizza was hot, the crust was perfectly cooked, the vegetables were delicious, the sauce was not too salty or acidic, and the cheese was fresh and flavourful! I will definitely have to make another visit.

I ordered wings and fried chicken from this place, and I’m honestly shocked by what I received. As soon as I opened the box at home (15 minutes after pickup), I saw that every single piece of chicken was completely burned. Not slightly overcooked — burned. The wings and fried chicken were pitch black in some areas and had a strong, bitter, charred taste that made them inedible.
It’s insulting that this was even packed and handed to a customer. No one in the kitchen thought twice before sending out food in that condition? If the fryer was too hot, the oil too old, or someone simply overcooked the batch, it should’ve been remade — not served.
I’ve taken photos to show exactly what I’m talking about. I was expecting basic quality and care, instead, I got food that should have been thrown out, not sold.
I called and was able to get the order remade.

My fiancée and I have been coming here for 8+ years and Basil’s has NEVER disappointed! The owner is extremely nice and treats us well every time. Lots of combo meals; I highly recommend the steak and cheese or the calzone (bring your appetite). Fiancée is a big fan of the fried chicken platter. You can’t go wrong. Came by after recent renovations and the place looks better than ever. 100/10 you won’t be disappointed!

I have been coming here for almost 8 years, and it’s hands down one of the best halal spots around. The variety is great and my favorites are the Philly beef steak pizza, meat lover’s pizza, fried chicken, wings, and cheeseburger. Everything is always fresh and flavorful. On top of that, the customer service is consistently kind and welcoming. I can’t recommend this place enough!

This was an impulse decision based on what was open late night near 1-270. Their menu was available online. So, I phoned in the order for a Chicken Parmigian sub and a side of fries. The order was prepared fresh and was ready for pickup when I arrived. The sub was decent (needed a bit more cheese), the fries were great, and service was polite. Overall, I would return here under similar circumstances.

Basil’s Pizza, Subs and More is definitely a great find. It is one of the hidden gems in Gaithersburg for gyro lovers. Small (not enough space to sit large groups), clean, fair prized, welcoming restaurant. Both the staff and owner are pleasant. The gyros were authentic and the crispy fries were a winner. They have two types of fries. I chose the crispy fries. Delicious, no fuss good food at a very fair price. If that’s what you’re seeking, this restaurant is your destination. It is a place worth patronizing repeatedly. You’ll be quite pleased.
