We were searching for the perfect chicken fried steak.
We walked in and were seated immediately.
The server was super friendly and took our order as soon as we sat down. He explained the family style serving method and we were good to go.
The salad was a southern staple … basically seasoned lettuce. So simple and so good!
We both ordered chicken fried steak and it was a good size, cooked well and had good flavor. The star of the show was the gravy. I felt like I was sitting at my grandma’s table. White Gravy made with chicken drippings … OMG, it was sooooo good.
Buttery corn, bacon green beans, creamy mashed potatoes, and crunchy, but fluffy biscuits.

Oh this might be my favorite Fried Chicken place! I love my fried chicken. I love the all-you-can-eat family style sides! The vibe is awesome. The service is top-notch! Each meal comes with biscuits, salad and sides.

Service was excellent. Seated quickly and our server was great. Very friendly and was good about checking on us. Took some time for my eyes to adjust to the very dim lightening. We ordered their fried chicken (Very crispy and moist but the flavor was just “okay”. This was my son’s pick but he ate ours instead because he did not like it) catfish (Crispy with good seasoning) fried steak (Crispy, tender and flavorful. My husband and son’s favorite.). Their sides are just okay. Mash is bland, corn is good and the green beans has too much of a char taste for me.

So the Hillbilly got to hang with some family while in Dallas. The place we chose to meet up at was Babe’s Chicken in Arlington.
First and foremost, if you want something other than chicken, you are in the wrong place!
The 5 different chicken plates are served with all the sides you can eat, kinda like Lambert’s here in the Ozarks. All the food was great, but I think I was most impressed with their honey. I know, I know, all that food and the thing I picked is honey… but it was REALLY GOOD!!
The other thing that stood out was the service. Davon was outstanding! If management sees this, they need to give him a bonus. Just sayin’.
My nephew said they have locations throughout the metro, and they have one really close to their place. That could be dangerous.
Great food, great atmosphere, great service, and great place for chicken!

Great restaurant and very unique. You can order from fried chicken, chicken fried steak, smoked chicken or Catfish. You pick one and they bring all the sides to you. I recommend the fried chicken and chicken fried steak. And to top it off order some banana pudding which is a local favorite.

Went for an early dinner on Saturday and overall it was good meal. We didnt have to wait for our table. Food was good. It tasted fresh and hot. Our server Jacob was nice and attentive and he always kept our glasses full and got us more sides and buscuits when we needed them.

Cee-Cee was the best! She made sure my Uncle’s 91st Birthday was trouble free. We showed up during the mid day, before the evening opening and she still allowed us to come in because of our uncle.

The best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Super crunchy with flavor to the bone. Juicy and moist, all the while the breading held on and did not crumbled or flake off. Fried steak was also super crunchy and cooked to perfection. The side that comes with all orders needs some help. Salad is just iceberg lettuce chopped, tossed in a coleslaw dressing. Gravy did not deserve to touch the steak or mashed potatoes, which had a texture resembling something that came out of a box. Our server was flustered and kept forgetting stuff, but in all, we had a good experience. Good for the chicken, it’s worth the drive from anywhere.
