The Old House is truly a Statham staple. I visited years ago for lunch, but today was my first time trying their breakfast—and it didn’t disappoint! They serve all the classic Southern staples. I ordered two eggs with cheese, grits, toast, and bacon. The eggs were prepared omelet-style and were honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. Everything was fresh, delicious, and clearly made with care.

The service was five-star—friendly and attentive—and the atmosphere is exactly what you’d expect from a small-town family restaurant: warm, welcoming, and charming.

Highly recommended if you’re in the area and want a true Southern breakfast experience.

Came here for the very first time to meet my daughter.
We sat down and got some coffee and just people watched while we waited for my daughter.
You can tell, everyone in there were regulars, people from the town.
They were busy and were hustling to get orders out quickly.
I ordered the fried bologna with eggs in a bisquit… Delicious!!!!
We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.

We had a business breakfast at Old House because of the awesome reviews. Our experience was not good. The lady who took our order was at best unfriendly. The food came and the biscuits were burned on the bottom. The white gravy was almost brown. The sausage was hard could have been a good weapon! The hashbrowns were good and the eggs were good. Maybe they will see this review and improve. There were 4 in our party and the consensus was the same.

The two ratings arent accurate… With the service and food I’ve had here over the years I’d like to report a much better meal. Lunch today, 9/23/24 was pulled pork, chicken fried steak, and fried tenders. Steak was smothered in a brown gravy that I can’t explain. It was a simple flour/milk gravy but had a lot of beef base. Scratch cooking is on point, especially at breakfast. It seems they’re willing to serve burnt cornbread, blackened on bottom and brown on top. I’d chop the bottom and eat it with chili but that’s me. Worth the stop hands down compared to fast food. They also have a grill/fryer for short orders so I’d imagine they have decent burger and fries. I tip at least 20% for service at buffets but that’s me. You can complain after you work in the restaurant industry. Yep…

Called to see what they serve and was provided with the shittiest customer service. we’ve never been there so we asked if they had waffles and lady said this isnt no waffle house.. I was really caught off guard so in the process of that she hung up on me.. I was told they had really good food so I was going to try it out but after all that im good

Good breakfast food! Friendly! And its always packed. Everyone loves this place so be prepared for a short wait. Its always packed for a reason! Pretty sure their lunch time is busy too. It’s a little cozy hole in the wall but spots like these have the best food.

Small town country eatin. Biscuits are huge and my fav! Never disappoints with gravy. Pancakes are huge, too. Thick cut bacon. Never had a bad biscuit there. Lunch is pretty good, too, altho I haven’t frequented during that time of day. They also sometimes sell freshly ground pork sausage

We’ve been regulars here for a while, food used to be good but last 3 times our biscuits were burnt and not edible, seems like it’s not getting better. Why do you serve food that is clearly burnt and not edible? Throw it away and start over!! Won’t be going back.
