The coffee is great too. I usually get a latte, and it’s always smooth and well made. Sometimes I take my order to go, and it stays hot all the way home, which says a lot.
It’s located inside the S&W Market, which is bursting with character and full of great local energy.
Yes, there’s usually a line during busy times, but that just shows how good the food is. The staff are friendly, quick, and the food comes out hot and fresh.
If you’re in Asheville, do yourself a favor and stop by Flour for a biscuit and a coffee. It’s that good!
This is not a true restaurant, but a mini restaurant with only a few items on the menu and no full kitchen. But the biscuits beg to differ — they are delicious. Crispy and buttery on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, and FLAVORFUL. Latte with house made syrup is totally worth it too. And we had a pistachio chocolate chip cookie that was simply delightful — crisp and salty edges, melty buttery gooey middle.
This is NOT a fun vibe (at least not on a Wednesday morning at 10am). If you’re looking for a similar menu but way more vibes, head to Butter Punk.
We finally stopped into Flour at the S&W Market downtown, and it completely exceeded our expectations. Honestly, we just thought it would be a quick breakfast stop — a coffee, a bite, and on with our day. But the energy, the food, and the people here stopped us in our tracks.
The vibe is lively, welcoming, and balanced. Staff were prompt, friendly, and clearly care about what they’re doing. Families, friends, and locals were all gathered around — and it wasn’t for anything else in the building. It was for Flour.
And the biscuits? Absolutely next-level. We tried the Bacon, Egg & Cheese biscuit — smoky bacon, melty cheese, perfectly cooked egg, all stacked inside a biscuit that was golden and crisp on the outside, buttery and tender inside. The kind of biscuit that makes you close your eyes for a second bite.
In the past 6 months, this is the best biscuit I’ve had in Asheville — and judging from the buzz around the shop, a lot of other folks agree. Flour isn’t just making biscuits; they’re raising the standard for what breakfast should be in this city.
If you haven’t been yet, get yourself down to Flour. You’ll taste why everyone’s talking about it.
Flour is located in a small food court, and seating is somewhat limited. Be prepared to stand or take your order to go.
And just when you think it couldn’t get any better… they have a pistachio brittle cookie. WHAT. Get the biscuit, grab the cookie for later, and thank me after. You will not be disappointed.
My only regret? I live out of town and probably won’t get to have this biscuit again for another year, and that is truly tragic.
I had the egg and bacon biscuit. I felt it was missing something. Also the bacon was very overcooked and lacking flavor.
Also had a dirty chai which was good.
