We tried the sampler, clam chowder and hot buttered lobster roll and we can say for sure the hot buttered roll was the best. The sampler is good too if you wish to try out the other rolls including cold lobster mayo roll.

Sheer disappointment. If you are really eager to try lobster meat, I’d highly recommend some other “state”. For $40 what I got was, 3 bites of utter misery.
I decided to try it out due to certain reviews and reddit recommendations. To my surprise, it didn’t live up to any of the hype.
The cashier mentioned how substantial the portion size was compared to the seafood sampler. Based on her recommendation, I went with the most popular hot lobster roll with butter.
The first level of disappointment started with the visual. It started escalating as I started eating it. For $40, I ended up getting a handful of food- a slice of Pullman loaf (which I believe should’ve been a hot dog bun), a lemon wedge and some dry and overcooked lobster meat. All my enthusiasm was killed and I started regretting my purchase.
There may be a few standalone restaurants in the area that may serve way better rolls. However, I’ve become extremely averse. After having tried lobster at Nova Scotia and Maine, I really had high expectations of this place but it kills the Boston food scene.
If you love lobster and are eager to try these rolls, go anywhere but here. Save some $$ and don’t burn a hole in your pocket.

It was good clam chowder. It was a bit on the watery side for me. Personal preference. I get it. The bread was delicious. The portion size was appropriate for the price. Both were very fair. Seating is tough. It’s inside a food court. Not my thing. If that’s your thing, you’ll like this place. It’s just way to crazy for me and too many people.

This is the best lobster place in town. I travelled from London to try this and it did not disappoint! The guys were real nice and made it to my liking. I originally had one around $34 then my sis and I bought another one as it was so freaking nice. A few days later I also had another one because why not. Brioche roll was so nice and soft and tasty, the lobster was generous. We got asked by other customers if this was good as they tried another and it was not to their liking. Don’t waste you money on others. Get this one and only this!!!

We visited on a Wednesday in mid-June 2025 for dinner.

It wasn’t really busy at the time and the guy behind the counter actually looked a little bored. He answered all our questions and also offered us a sample of clam chowda as we were deciding what we wanted to order.

We ordered:
– Clam chowder bread bowl (the volume of soup is in between the large and small size cups)
– Clam chowder large (to refill out bowl after we finished it)
– Crab salad sandwich (it was a cheaper option to try and was better than the lobster salad sandwich)
– Lobster salad sandwich (a much cheaper option than a traditional lobster roll, also not bad but the crab salad sandwich we enjoyed more)

Overall the food was decent. The prices were astronomical and we had seafood and lobster rolls at other places on this trip that were much cheaper. We didn’t actually order the lobster roll here but not sure it would’ve been that much better. The sandwiches we did have were good and satisfied a craving. Not sure I would order from here again just because there are so many other options in the market we wanted to try. So if you need to satisfy some seafood craving, this will do it but there are similar places with lower prices.

Lobster roll tasted really good but 33$ was expensive. Shrimp Mac & Cheese was exceptional. The shrimp was cooked to perfection. Portion was good too.

The food here is pretty pricey, and some of the portions look a little measly…my partner had the clam chowder bread bowl and he said it was pretty good. We also tried the mac and cheese which was also pretty good. Probably paying a bit more than you should for some of these items but that’s seafood paces for you.

Be prepared to be amazed. Fresh (not fishy) large chunks of lobster nestled between a lightly toasted roll that’s been anointed with an herbed butter…that was my experience with the Hot Buttered Lobsta Roll

The main thing I wanted to do in Boston was try a lobster roll! There are many options in Quincy Market, but this one caught my attention. There was a bit of a line, but it moved quickly. You place your order at the register and then wait on the side for it to be prepared. The staff worked at a fast pace, so the service was quick. The seafood display looked fresh and clean.

I ordered the naked lobster roll and clam chowder, which came to a whopping $44! The lobster roll was absolutely delicious. The buttered bread was out of this world, and the lobster meat was tender and flavorful. Although the roll looked small, it was surprisingly filling. The clam chowder was the perfect complement for the cold weather.

I’m glad I got to try it, but I probably wouldn’t order it again anytime soon since it was quite a splurge. Overall, it was delicious, fresh, and satisfying!
