Great food at a great price! Wailoa Grill is a small local grill with outside protected seating. We shared their grilled salmon platter, opting for their asian flavored slaw vs macaroni and boy are we glad we did. As you might be able to see rhe portion was enough for two. We’ll definitely be back before leaving! This is a hidden gem of a place!

Awesome hole in the wall with lots of options, specials and plate lunches. We got the fish & chips, chili dog, pork & onions and fried ice cream with sides of Mac salad, coleslaw & fries. Couldn’t believe there was no wait, everything was delicious. Nice shaded seating

First time there. Got the Ahi Katsu special. Pretty good though the fish was just a little on the dry side. I wish the fish was flash fried and on the rarer side. Portion size was good, a big ahi steak. Sauce was delicious and helped. Batter was nice and crispy. I will go back and try some of their daily menu dishes.

I loved this new place, big portions for the price, incredible cheeseburger, and fish and chips the best I’ve ever had, even better than the ones in California; ahi belly super fresh as they receive it directly from Suisan Fresh Market Fish caught in the morning every day. Unbeatable location just a few steps from Liliʻuokalani Gardens, a beautiful park, perfect for getting a fish and chips or a portion of calamari and eating in the park looking at the ocean and with the beautiful view of Mauna Kea and the fact that they serve all orders in disposable packaging makes it even easier for those of us who just want to grab a snack and go for a walk around the park or around the city, plenty of parking options in the back!

So far this is my favorite plate lunch spot in Hilo. The grilled salmon plate with slaw and the garlic furikake chicken plate are my favorites . The wait is never long and there are lots of places to sit. Really good location being next to the park and waterfront too.

Ordered the Captain’s Platter. Chips/Fries had a satisfying crunch with a nice soft inside. The fish was not dry or greasy and tasted amazing. Will be back for more

It’s my first time here and I’m glad I stopped by. Wailoa grill has a good selection on their menus for breakfast and lunch. I ordered the hamburger steak with fried rice and Mac salad. The food was tasty and it’s a pretty large portion. There is a small outdoor seating area which is perfect to eat and go. Btw, the cashier was very sweet and helpful.
