We stopped in for a late lunch after an appointment and the wonderful server told us it was happy hour so we tried a few different things and were so glad. Kelly our super sweet server talked me into trying the clam chowder. I have never liked it. Ever. Always too fishy and blah. I ate mine and took some home. It was DELICIOUS so creamy and all the flavors just merged and blended so well. Apparently I’ve just been eating lousy chowder. I would go again just for the chowder. But the wings and oysters would keep me coming back. The wings reminded me of the original hooters wings from way back. It’s a 40 minute drive for me but I’ll definitely be going back and taking friends. The oysters were absolutely perfect also. I truly appreciate the service and good food.

Came for the oysters at happy hour! Great deal. I tried the chargrilled for the 1st time and they will be the reason I’ll return soon. I also got the seafood bucket- steamed oysters, clams, shrimp and crab legs, I learnt how to stuck an oyster! The bucket was a bit expensive so I’d recommend bringing a friend & sharing!

This place is a standard franchise. I ate the seafood bucket with a dozen raw oysters. The oysters didn’t have any flavor. The crab legs were rubbery shells (over cooked) but the portion was great. The bucket also came with a dozen clams and 1/4lb of shrimp and corn on the cob (wilted and dry). I didn’t go for corn, just the seafood. Overall decent for what I ate. My husband had fish fry that looked terrible. He said, meh

The steamed bucket of clams, oysters, shrimp and crab legs food was delicious! The atmosphere is casual and comfy and the people working were nice and helpful. We went for a birthday lunch and it will be one of the best meals we’ve ever gotten for my birthday! Wonderful place!

I went there to try their oysters. They had two types available. Good enough to order more. The atmosphere is cozy with nice bar and some seating inside and out. The menu had a variety of seafood including a burger options. They had a nice selection of beer and other options but I went with Red Oak beer. Daily specials offered.

We personally did not like the food. We had sandwiches (crab & lobster) with fries & hush puppies & coleslaw. Husband said lobster was okay but not very much. More fries than sandwich. Crab cake sandwich had a lot of filler, and no taste. Hush puppie crab balls a lot of filler and tasted a bit stale. Stomach ache after. Service itself was good.

My wife and I decided to try another Shuckin Shack instead of going downtown Wilmington and fighting for a parking space!
We are glad we did; our server Marianna was great. She took her time to make sure all went well and offered great advice! My wife’s crab cakes were perfect and since she got 2 in her sandwich she saved one to enjoy at home!
We had a dozen Grand Strand oysters on the half shell and they were large, juicy and briny! Perfect for our appetizer!

So I had ordered this drink called pain killer and I hated it so much it stunk so bad. But my waitress took it away no problem and kept the sprite coming!!! I had the shrimp nachos which were amazing just wish there wasn’t lettuce on it and I got the shrimp and grits mmmmmmmmmm sooo good food was on point

2025- absolutely the best fried cod I’ve ever had in North carolina!
This place has the best fried shrimp ever. the breading is simply awesome. They’ve got drinks that come in a glass, they’ve got servers that show up with a smile, and they often have live entertainment. The patrons are fun the service is great the atmosphere is positive and the place is clean.
Wish they’d bring back karaoke w Jerry Surprise.
Marianna and Megan are my favorite waitresses because they are always friendly and they wait until I’m done eating, ask me if I want anything else, clear the plate, and then give me the bill like you’re supposed to do! Maybe they should start teaching other wait staff in this area how to do their jobs. These ladies are friendly proficient and awesome!
