They just earned my top 5 Mexican food for their Al Pastor taco. The food was amazing, juicy and delicious. Service, top notch and friendly. Small restaurant but they should keep it that way because it’s cozy and beautiful.

This was an excellent vegetarian / vegan option for my wife and I as we are visiting from out of state. The jackfruit and nopalito taco options were fantastic! The owner lady was very friendly and we very much appreciated her service. I highly recommend El Zaguan for those who need a veggie / vegan option in Phoenix.

Excellent customer service and genuinely delicious food. This is some of the most authentic Mexican cuisine I’ve had in Phoenix, everything tasted fresh, well-prepared, and made with care. I was visiting from Germany and made a point to eat here every day during my stay because it never disappointed. A business that clearly takes pride in what they do and one that’s well worth supporting.

We stayed in a hotel nearby and were craving for good non-fast food lol. Found this place by searching breakfast burrito and their chorizo burrito is quite decent with potato and ground meat! For only $10 this is definitely value for quality food option.

✨️ Made it to Phoenix, Arizona for the annual American Astronomical Society 2026 winter meeting #247 (#AAS247), where about 2,900 astronomers are gathering at the Phoenix Convention Center to talk about stars, planets, galaxies, the universe, and more!

I’m excited to reconnect with colleagues and catch up with old friends …and to start things off, I’m trying a family-owned spot, El Zaguán Bistro. The name reminded me of my grandma Basilisa’s house in México, and they were kind enough to make my salad bowl with both carne asada and nopalitos, just like I requested. So good!

A Taste of Home Worth Traveling For!
Coming all the way from Texas, i have to say that this restaurant delivered one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in years. This truly cozy, family-owned spot immediately makes you feel at home—it’s warm, traditional, and has so much heart.
Let’s talk about the food: it was absolutely amazing. The tacos I had were hands-down some of the best I’ve ever tasted, truly embodying authentic, traditional Mexican cuisine. The quality and flavor of the dishes here are exceptional.
Beyond the food, the service was fantastic. Everyone was kind, attentive, and the service was both fast and genuinely good. It’s clear this is a family operation that takes real pride in both their cooking and their hospitality.
I would absolutely travel back solely for another meal here. If you are looking for top-tier, authentic Mexican food served with kindness, this is the place to be. Five stars isn’t enough!

A nice little spot to stop in after my run and grab some breakfast. Had the chilaquiles which were absolutely amazing and the staff (maybe owner?) was so attentive and helpful. I’m visiting from VA for a conference and I really enjoy some authentic Mexican food since I lived two years in Guadalajara. The breakfast reminded me of my late Aunt Nina from Chihuahua. I miss her cooking. She would have loved this place!!

I had to write this review as I’m eating this jackfruit burrito… literally the best vegan burrito I have ever had. Even though it’s not meat it tastes so authentic, the seasoning is amazing and they cooked the jackfruit perfectly (it can be done so wrong sometimes) Thank you guys!

This place is lovely. Warm staff, fun decor with lights and the music was a good level. I got 2 quesabirria and they were phenomenal. Perfectly melted cheese, great dip and the 3 salsas were amazing. Would come again!
