The seared salmon is absolute perfection. My friend had the pork katsu over rice and said it was well made. Our server was extremely friendly. Yes, the service is a bit slow even with very few people in the restaurant. We waited about 40 minutes between being seated and getting our food. I’d say for the sushi it’s well worth it though.

Miyako’s is one of my favorite Japanese restaurants in the area. Their sushi is always fresh, tasty, and beautifully made, but my absolute favorite thing to order is the teriyaki chicken. It comes out sizzling on a skillet over a bed of yaki soba/chow mein–style noodles, and it’s incredibly flavorful and satisfying every time.
The food here is consistently delicious, the portions are great, and the atmosphere is welcoming. Whether you’re craving sushi or something warm and hearty, Miyako’s never disappoints. Highly recommend!

I consistently enjoy this restaurant. The sushi rolls are outstanding, and I appreciate the friendly, fast service, and excellent food. I visit about once a week when I’m feeling like a treat! Sometimes I eat in and sometimes its to go – either way the service and quality is the same!

I’m only giving a two star because several years ago, when I was younger and less observant, I fell in love with their mango and sunshine rolls.
I’ve ordered their teriyaki chicken and, after the first bite tasting weird, looked at the chicken and it was PURPLE. Like a dark purple and I’ve literally never seen chicken that color.
Their staff is almost disinterested in serving people and are usually in the back. Once, I had ordered to go, I was probably 5 minutes past the ready time and walked in and waited at the counter for another 5 minutes. When they went to get my food, they pretended to go the back but just picked up my bag from a back table and brought it to me. I ordered the above mentioned rolls, one of which has salmon on top, uncooked.

It’s a nice, clean place. But I think we’re spoiled. The crunchy tuna roll was very boring. Their reader board showed a majority of their rolls dressed with sauces. Ours were not which made them bland. And the order was quite small but under 10 bucks so ok. I had a green salad with house dressing. The salad is the bagged kind but it was fresh and you would think the dressing would be some Japanese delightfulness but it was more like a mild Italian. They got the edamame right but really how can you screw those up. The server was very quiet but efficient. Even though we were the only folks in the restaurant right around 4 pm when they return from their hour break and are closed for an hour, we had a longer wait than I feel we should have.
Oh. And don’t drink the water. It tastes like chemicals.

I grew up coming here with my dad since I was a kid. The only thing I would say is the wait time can be a little rough but other then that the food it great and the atmosphere is nice and chill.

I’m just in town helping friends move into this gorgeous town and I walked multiple miles with my cat on my back to eat here and I’m so glad I did. The food was fantastic. I ordered 2 rolls and veggie yakisoba, the standout was the tiger roll and noodles, amazing. You get enough noodles for multiple people and it does NOT need anything, doesn’t need hot sauce or salt, it’s perfectly seasoned and the vegetables have immaculate char. I cant friggin wait to come back for the donburi!

So close to home, really the only sushi and Japanese food/ restaurant for a long ways. With that said, I’m a sushi loving, craving, needing, and obsessed fanatic of all good and clean sushi! I like how small and neat their rolls are (traditional). Organized rolls (if you know you know). The taste isn’t as fresh as other places in Portland to be honest. It does not melt in your mouth. I should mention I’ve dined in many times recently and ordered from them at least once a week. I recently started ordering Yakisoba, Soups, and steak Teriyaki were which were all very good as well. Servers are fantastic, always kind, and get my order right every single time.
