I was with my father passing through Reading and found this place. I read all of the good reviews and funny responses from the owner and had to give it a shot. The cheese steaks definitely didn’t disappoint they were very delicious! My father ordered the Tony’s original and I had one of their special spicy jalapeno cheese steaks of the day not on the menu. Would definitely go here again when I’m in the area! French fries were bangin also! Crunchy not too salty.

Came here because I was hearing rave reviews that it has great cheesesteaks. I ordered the 10 inch chicken cheesesteak with provolone extra sauce, pepper spread on a seated roll. I was charged $14 for the cheesesteak, a dollar for the extra sauce, 75 cents for a pepper spread. The extra sauce literally was hardly anything at all.
My son’s girlfriend ordered the chicken capri which she enjoyed. My son ordered a cheeseburger and french fries. He said the cheeseburger tasted like something you got in a school cafeteria. They liked the fry sauce that came with the fries.
Other than the hamburger I thought the food was okay. I definitely don’t think it is worth the price though.

Hands down the best cheesesteaks, chicken cheesesteaks, and subs around. Every time I go, they knock it out of the park: the bread is fresh, the meat is tender, and the toppings are generous. Their desserts and sides are also delicious. Rare for a place to be this well-rounded.
Customer service is also very friendly and efficient. I like to order online for pickup, and it’s always hot and ready on time. Tony’s is always consistent and consistently excellent.

Been wanting to try a cheesesteak for a while. Didn’t get a chance to get to one of the tourist spots in Philly because I was in Reading and didn’t have much time. Searched the best spot for Cheesesteaks near by and this place popped up. I’m glad I went there. I ordered the Passyunk Prime, which was mouth watering and delicious. It was quick and easy to order it online and take it to go. Highly recommend!

We came here because of all of the social media recommendations. Overall, I don’t think we’d come back. We came around 2pm on a Saturday (January 25, 2025), and our order took over 45 minutes for two sandwiches. We did try to order online ahead of time, but the website said that online ordering was not available. You can’t go inside, so we waited outside in the cold. 3-4 customers walked up to the window and were served within a few minutes. It was not busy. The cheesesteak and the Italian were both very flexy. The flavor was good, but the texture was not. We expected more for the steep price.

I kept hearing whispers on the wind that this place makes ridiculously good cheesesteaks. I wouldn’t change a single thing about the passyunk prime. From the corropolese roll, the way the meat was chopped and cooked, the sweet onions cut perfectly, cooked perfectly, and distributed evenly, the cooper sharp was not too little and not so much that it’s gloopy. 100% Clearly engineered by a person who cares and has fully mastered the dish. I assume I was interacting with the owner tonight, nice little chat. I hope you know you are appreciated!

Stumbled across this spot by mistake! I was working in the area and just looking for a quick slice of pizza. After striking out at a couple spots I ended up here thinking I was getting pizza. Turns out it’s the best cheesesteak spot around! I’m not even into cheesesteaks like that but damn this Passyunk Prime was delicious! Bread was super fresh and tasty and all the ingredients were on point. Not only great food but the people there are welcoming and very friendly with good music playing! I even got to try some hot wings they said they don’t normally have. Definitely glad I found this spot and it will be my go-to whenever I’m in the area.

Decided to try their wings today. They were some of the best wings I’ve had. Juicy, good size for the cost, and just the right level of spice. Did my favorite cheesesteak place just become my favorite wing place too? It looks that way. Excellent as always!

Ok, we were to start!!! The cheesesteak was phenomenal!! The steak was lightly chopped but not destroyed into a thousand pieces. The Cooper Sharp was the perfect compliment to an amazing sandwich. And the bread was the perfect vehicle for such a delicious treat!!! The jersey fries were to die for!!! Fresh cut with a light batter that will become an instant craving. The best part was the person who helped us. Amethyst was super friendly and truly made the experience a 10!!!!!!!!!!! Highly recommend if you’re within 1 hr totally worth the drive! There’s no need to travel to Philly for the real deal it’s in West Reading at Tony’s!!!!!
