Haven’t been to Ocean since last year so it’s refreshing to have New Restaurants available. This location is in the Lobby of Ocean Casino which is an easy walk from the elevators. I was celebrating a special occasion and booked in advance with special request and the hostess accommodated my request. Staff is very attentive. I greatly enjoyed the First course salad it was delicious that dressing is everything. I ordered the Steak Frites with Bèrnaise sauce and my partner ordered the Salmon with the Chimchurri sauce with unlimited fries and Shrimp cocktail A La Cart. My steak was medium and very juicy the salmon was a nice portion size. For dessert we had the crème brûlée and it was delectable and decadent and creamy. I would definitely come again.

We were pleasantly surprised after seeing some mixed reviews, everything was excellent! Our waiter Manolo went above and beyond. The salad was fresh, the steaks were juicy and delicious, and the sauces were great (chimichurri was my favorite). Loved the crunchy shoestring fries too. Managers John and Joseph were awesome. Overall, a fantastic dining experience!

Had a great experience here, food was amazing. Highly recommend the scallop crudo and mussels. Entree, we got the lobster and filet mignon which was amazing and cooked perfectly.
Service was good, David our waiter was very attentive and helpful. Always there and checking in on us. Overall it was great experience and will definitely return!

I was really impressed with both the service and the steak—and honestly, that’s what matters most.

The steak was spot-on: cooked to a perfect medium with a beautifully seared crust, flavorful, juicy, and surprisingly tender for a NY strip with very little excess fat. Definitely a quality cut.

Our server was excellent—attentive throughout the meal and even went out of their way to replace the Béarnaise sauce after I mentioned it wasn’t to my taste. A small gesture, but it made a big difference.

Between the steak and the service alone, I’d absolutely return—and I’d like to bring my wife so she can try it as well.

Being such a limited menu, I knew what i was getting myself into. That said, not everything stood out. The salad was very plain, and I wish there had been at least one alternative dressing. The fries were much better than expected, but since I’m not really a fries person, I didn’t end up eating many. Next time, I may just bring my own dressing to liven up the salad.

My partner and I went to celebrate his birthday and it was just the best time. Our server, Bryan, treated us amazingly. As people who also work in hospitality, we appreciated his attention to detail and his personable service. The food was also incredible. Some of the best peppercorn i’ve ever sauce and the mussels in white wine sauce with the toast are just so so good.

Better Living
Chez Frites was the highlight of our trip to Ocean. The restaurant has a warm Parisian feel with vintage French posters, soft lighting, and a lively bar. We sat in a burgundy corner booth that set the perfect mood for dinner.

Our server Jacob was fantastic and provided excellent recommendations. We started with scallop crudo in the shell with lime, passionfruit, and hazelnut oil, which was fresh and full of flavor. For mains we shared the steak frites and the lobster frites. The steak was cooked perfectly and served with béarnaise, and the lobster tail was tender, sweet, and much larger than expected. The fries were golden, crisp, and unlimited, and Jacob always seemed to appear with more.

For dessert we tried profiteroles with warm chocolate sauce poured at the table, along with a bright and tangy passionfruit tart. Both were excellent. We ended the evening with cocktails at the bar and kept coming back there the rest of the weekend.

The food was wonderful, I had the steak while my mother had the salmon both were cooked to perfection and paired wonderfully with the sauces, the fries are unlimited but the second round took a while due to them making a new batch. The Dessert was wonderful. And as well the mussels were good as well, and the sauce was wonderful, in fact all the sauces were great. Also the steak knife has a wonderful design.

A fantastic experience! Spent our Valentines dinner here. Joseph our waiter was attentive, fun and made the experience wonderful. Their salad was one of the best we’ve ever had. Artichoke appetizer was delish too! We will definitely return!

My review is no reflection on the server or staff. The restaurant was way under staffed. We arrived at 630 and at 720 got our salad, the first part of the meal. I had the New York strip and my family ordered the chicken. The $49 steak was approximately 1/3 inch thick. More fitting of a chain steak house than a high end restaurant. It was also tough and made me question its prime cut description. My family said the chicken was inedible. We sent the entire meal back. The $36 cheese burger was no different than a $6 burger from smash burger. The manager came and listened to our concerns. He was excellent in his attention to the customer. He comped us about 2/3 of the meal. I’m a huge fan of Starr’s restaurants. I’m from Philly and have been eating at them for 20 plus years. This place does not live up to his reputation.
