My family and I visited Minnie Bird in Naperville on opening day around 6:30 PM for dinner. Surprisingly, it wasn’t crowded at all, which made the lack of service stand out even more.
We weren’t greeted upon entering, and there were no opening-day incentives, freebies, or special touches to mark the occasion. We ordered two 3-piece chicken tender meals, one chicken sandwich, and two dirty sodas. The total came to $50, which felt quite high for the items we received.
Unfortunately, the food was subpar—bland and not worth the price. The dirty sodas were overwhelmingly sweet (to the point we couldn’t finish them and had to throw them out).
We noticed several managers and even the owner walking around the restaurant, but no one stopped by our table (or any others we saw) to check in, ask how everything was, or offer any hospitality. As we left, the managers were chatting near the door, but no one thanked us, said goodbye, or acknowledged us in any way.
Overall, the high prices, mediocre food quality, and especially the complete lack of warmth, interaction, or basic customer service from the staff, managers, and owners left us very disappointed. We won’t be returning. The restaurant could greatly benefit from being more welcoming, hospitable, and engaged with guests—especially on opening day when first impressions matter most.

First time trying Minnie Bird, and OMG it’s great! Lime coke dirty soda is nice. Cheese fries are good. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich…. Awesome!!! Got the hot, perfect! cole slaw and pickle is a sweet, tangy and compliments the sandwich perfectly. Wow, this is my new lunch location.

Love the Schaumburg location, but this one just lacked customer service. Lots of people working but no greeting or thanks for coming in. It wasn’t even that busy. Took a long time for them to restock sauces and it took way too long to get the ice cream.

So glad Naperville finally got a Minnie Bird. I’ve been to two of their other locations and love it. The Nashville hot sandwich is crispy and has just the right kick. It’s actually flavorful, not just “hurt your mouth” spicy. And everyone is so nice!
