Tacos Calafia is EXACTLY the kind of spot you hope to stumble upon when you’re hungry and craving real, flavorful tacos.
First of all — the prices? So good. Especially for how generous the portions are and how fresh everything tastes. It feels like one of those rare places where you walk out thinking, “How was that this affordable?”
The Al Pastor tacos are absolutely to die for. Perfectly seasoned, juicy, with that little bit of sweetness — we loved them so much that we went back multiple times just to get more. That alone should tell you everything you need to know.
The margaritas are fantastic too — refreshing, strong enough to do the job, and the perfect pairing with a plate of tacos.
On top of all that, the staff is super friendly and welcoming, which just makes the whole experience even better.
This is the type of place you want to find and eat at — unpretentious, delicious, fairly priced, and consistently good. If you’re anywhere near Peoria, go get the Al Pastor. You’ll be thinking about it later.

10/10 experience. Tacos are delicious, salsas are spicy with a great variety, and the jamaica agua fresca is on point. I had the carne asada tacos and a grilled chicken mulita both were . Highly recommend this taquería.

Tacos Calafia was SOOOO good and we loved how flavorful the food was. They have shade outside with some awesome music so we had an amazing lunch. Will definitely go here again. Loved it! They even have some gluten free options.

TACOS Califia has been amazing since the start. Just had the cabeza, al pastor and asada, all so good, not super fatty and cooked perfectly. Their salsa bar includes so much, I miss carrots and cucumber (maybe different region/ style) but I can get extra cilantro on the side so that’s a plus. Don’t forget the consume! On the west side come here for terrific food, now serving breakfast!

Ordered their horchata, 3 al pastor tacos and carne asada nachos and everything was delicious! The horchata is one of the best I’ve had—super milky and sweet. Love the salsas bar is awesome and free to get as much as you’d like. The place was clean and the service was great. Will continue to come back!

No frills, all flavor. I had the vampire egg with al pastor and a birria consume with meat and cheese. Everything was delicious. Condiment bar and clean and well stocked. Glad we finally tried; we will be back!

Would not return here again. My daughter found a piece of bone in her taco… Good thing she was carefully chewing g and noticed it. Was so mad that the cooks are so careless. Was telling the ladies that worked there it they barely understand English. Tacos are super tiny and meat is the cheapest quality… Place is very stick, dirty and dingy… Especially the bathrooms. Don’t want to know what the kitchen looks like.
