Great! I had the Cinnamon Roll French Toast and orange juice. The orange juice is the best you’ll find. Fresh squeezed! The Cinnamon Roll French Toast was one the best that I recall having. I’d definitely order it again, in fact I’m back again right now with the same order. My wife had the Steak Barn omelette before and ordered it again as well. Tried the hot chocolate today and it was good. My sister had eggs/bacon/pancake last time. The eggs/bacon were perfect. The pancake was okay but not the best we’ve had. This time she tried the biscuits and gravy and reports them as ok, but not special. The food was a little slow to arrive (leisurely) but I’ll wait for great food. We are talking about making this a weekly stop.

We (a group of 2) came in to eat breakfast around 10 a.m. and were told the wait would be 10 minutes. No problem; they looked busy. At about 10 minutes, three women came in and the waitress saw them and was excited to see them like they were friends and she told them “you are sitting in my section!”. A couple of minutes later the waitress came up to the three women who came after us and said “go sit at the table for 5 back there”. The hostess who took our names, didn’t say anything, like these people were here first and have been waiting. My husband and I then left, since people who arrived after us were seated before us. Not good business! We never tried the food. During the 15 or so minutes we waited no observed that no one was served food, just drinks. It seemed strange. For as busy as it was inside, the servers looked very slow. It smelled delicious in the restaurant. I was very disappointed.

Breakfast Barn catered our child’s birthday last weekend, and we were thoroughly impressed. We requested hamburgers, hotdogs, and a tray of burger toppings, and they certainly did not disappoint. From the initial phone call to the pickup, the staff was exceptionally kind and helpful. We picked up the order promptly at 10 a.m., and everything was neatly packaged and labeled. The hotdogs were hot and delicious, reminiscent of those from a ball game. Although we assembled the burgers ourselves, they tasted fantastic, like a Burgerfiend burger. I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful the service was and how friendly the owners and staff are. We would certainly choose them again for future catering needs. Thank you!

My ladies and I went there for the first time. We were seated right away but waited a while to get our food. It was good and the place was busy. Main complaint was that potatoes were cold. Loved that it appeared to be a family ran business. We’ll be back.

I guess we were expecting exceptional breakfast food given the name. It was good but nothing great. Service was good too, nothing over the top or horrible either. You sit by windows and they were filthy but the rest of the restaraunt was fine! The sausage had a weird taste, bacon was so thin for the price and hashbrowns aren’t crispy. Overall nothing worth writing home about. Hopefully just an off day?

My wife and I had a great experience! The chef did an awesome job! Everything was cooked perfectly and was delicious. The scrambled eggs were seasoned with something I’m not sure what but it was so good. The sausage Pattie’s were meaty and cooked just right. The pancakes were crisp on the edges and fluffy. Looks like they roast and grind their own coffee. I had the freshly squires orange juice from the machine. Best breakfast in a while. Service was friendly. They were very busy, two larger parties in the side room and people were coming in when we left. Expect a wait to be seated but it’s worth it!

My husband and I are on a quest to find the best breakfast spots in Cedar Rapids, and while we thought we found our number one place last week, Breakfast Barn completely proved us wrong! The hour-long drive from our home was absolutely worth it.
The food here is incredible. My husband ordered the shipwreck, and the portions were not only generous but also incredibly delicious. However, the real showstopper was the apple pancakes. Without a doubt, they are the best pancakes I have ever had.
Beyond the amazing food, the atmosphere was so welcoming, and our server, Vicki, made the experience truly special. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed and more. We will definitely be back!
