Platea Prime Steak delivers an atmosphere and level of service that immediately transport you to an upscale dining experience. I visited on a Wednesday, when they offer a very attractive special: you can bring up to two bottles of wine with no corkage fee, along with a $60 menu that I found quite reasonable.

The burrata and bacon salad had an interesting concept and a promising combination, but I left half of it because the vinegar was overly acidic for my taste. I’m a foie gras lover, so I agreed to add it on top of the steak, but unfortunately it was overcooked, which took away from what should have been a highlight of the meal.

The steak itself was generous in size, juicy, and well‑prepared. It came with more sauce than I personally prefer, but the flavor was still enjoyable and not overwhelming.

Great food and exceptional service. Adan was a perfect host and server. He was attentive, welcoming, and genuinely thoughtful with his recommendations. We were smiling the whole time. Every staff member we encountered was helpful and made the experience even better. The food was outstanding, and the suggested dishes were spot on. I love that they offer daily themed specials, an amazing wine list, and such a warm, inviting atmosphere. I can’t wait to go back!

Listen, I’ve got to say, this is a true hidden gem. Who would have thought in an unassuming little corner of Pinecrest there would be a restaurant of this quality. Platea not only delivers on their cuisine, the service is absolutely top notch. We had the pleasure of having Chris assist us tonight. He was incredible. His recommendations were spot on, and was attentive without getting the point of hovering. The steak was cooked to absolute perfection, but the true standout was an amazing deconstructed cheesecake dessert. Garnished with strawberries, blueberries and blackberries, I’d go back just for that.

I know when it comes to fine dining, Pinecrest doesn’t scream out as the go-to destination, but don’t sleep on this place. If you’re looking for a great date night spot away from the instagram crowds of Brickell or even the Gables, Platea is the place to visit.

Dining here was a great experience overall. Like with any business, things aren’t always perfect every single time—but what truly sets this steakhouse apart is how the management handles those moments. When something didn’t go exactly as planned, Fred went above and beyond to make it right, showing genuine care and professionalism.

That level of attention and accountability says a lot about the restaurant. The steaks were flavorful, cooked well, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Knowing that the team stands behind their service and is committed to making guests happy completely redeems—and elevates—the experience. I’ll definitely be back and would confidently recommend this place to anyone looking for a quality steakhouse with integrity. We ordered: The Porterhouse for two, Ceviche and a Caesar salad salad. A+

We visited for Valentine’s Day dinner, and it was quite special. The restaurant is gorgeous, our waiter Chris was attentive and friendly, and the food was impeccable. The only thing that needs adjustment is the explanation of the prix fixe menu when available, as we were under the impression that it was a full 4 course selection for each of us, when in reality we had to share the first two. Regardless, still an incredible restaurant and would highly recommend!

Delicious food and excellent service. Out server, Anthony, was a great combination of professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. The Dino-Rib (short rib) entree is one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. We also lived the lobster thermador, and the Wagyu tostones. Also whether you bring your own wine ($35 corkage) or get one off the wine list, they’ll decant and serve it for you just the same. To top it off, the baled Alaska is very good, and the espresso is excellent as well. Highly recommended!

It’s difficult in a city that has so many excellent dining choices to find one that stands out enough to actually write a review. The atmosphere was great with live background music that was tasteful and not so loud that you could actually have a conversation. The service was top notch. The food was deliciously seasoned and cooked to perfection. Civiche, Octopus, Lamb, Filet.. even the sides, all had amazing flavor! I highly recommend to anyone looking to have a premium culinary experience.

Another visit and they are incredibly consistent in food quality, ambiance and service. They have special offers certain evenings and this past Thursday it was a 40 ounce t-bone with sides, appetizers and dessert. We opted for the NY Strip. Amazing beef! The warm oyster appetizer is knocked your socks off fabulous. We enjoyed Caymus by the glass – smooth! They have a guitarist Thursday night and he added a quiet but wonderful music enhancement to the ambiance. This is fine ding and outstanding service at its best. And to top it off, it’s a hop from our home.

I found this place by doing a steak restaurant near me search in google and chose it because it had 4.6 stars and ceviche! The atmosphere is nice, dim lighting so a bit romantic. We had two appetizers, the raw oysters and the ceviche bowl. These are the best oysters I ever had, they are served in leche de Tigre and didn’t need horseradish to drown the flavor. Then the ceviche bowl was a unique blend of seafood, ginger, rocoto and lime juice with puree sweet potato. For the main course we had the tomahawk Tuesday special for 2 with Brussels sprouts and the mushrooms with onions. The sprouts were good and the mushrooms were amazing. The steak was really good as well, but they definitely saved the best for last, the special included a dessert and we opted for the Lucuma cheesecake, it beat everything else!!!!! I’m definitely coming back on a Thursday night for live music. Service was exceptional! Thank you @Douglas for being so attentive and amazing! We’ll be back!
