He brought out a small bowl of chips with salsa. Salsa was good!
You’d think a Mexican restaurant would have nachos on the menu. Nope. So we ordered 2 fish tacos. They were actually pretty good! I do recommend them.
The Mexican music being played inside is VERY loud. Probably would have stayed for a 2nd round of drinks if not for that.
My overall impression is I won’t return even though it’s walking distance from my apartment which is too bad.
Food is fresh you feel like at home Service is excellent the vibe is great trust me we are to come back again! And again!!
We went to the restaurant in March 3/23/24 for my friend birthday and it was a hit!! AGAIN!!! I totally loved it my friend got the Happy Birthday treat from the restaurant! and a delicious flan . So my boyfriend and I had the campechana cocktail (this was spicy ️ but really good and tasty if you’re in for spice you’ll love it),raw oysters super delicious with the Prepared sangria and a soda too and I ordered the chicken flautas not expecting that they had potato in it which seems a little different from what I was expecting good but from 1-5 I give a 3 cause I don’t like potato on my flautas cause they were a bit soggy but the rest was delicious and fresh as always!
Thanks again for the delicious food and the great service!!
We ordered the Torre de Mariscos, Tostadas de Cameron, and a fish taco with horchatas. You’re given chips and salsa too. My partner really liked the salsa given with the chips. It was really flavorful with the right amount of spicy. Chips were fresh as well.
Torre de Mariscos was amazing! Had shrimp, octopus and I believe scallops too. Tender and juicy. Whole and diced pieces of shrimp. You can tell everything tasted amazingly fresh and not “fishy”. The portions are big enough to share which is really nice.
Tostadas de Cameron was delicious. If you want to try ceviche for the first time, get this. A bit more simplier ceviche with a pack of flavor. Shrimp was cooked & diced, tender. It was served in a cute little boat with tostadas. The sauces are different from both plates but compliment the seafood well.
The fish taco we tried was really good too! It had two pieces of fish that were crispy batter fried and put on top of a corn tortilla. The salsa, avocado, and shredded cabbage are on the side when they bring it out to you so that the taco doesn’t get soggy. We compiled the taco and added the salsa from the chips on top. Delicious! Horchata was not overly sweet and very refreshing! Homemade is all I have to say.
Service was good overall. The food took a bit to come out but I believe everything’s made to order. It’s more of a place to chat & dine while drinking than a quick lunch break meal.
It’s really hard to find a place that has not only good seafood but really fresh ingredients too. Canelo’s is the place. We will definitely come back to try other dishes! Thank you!
