La Doña De San Miguel restaurant stands out for its exceptional dining experience. Our servers, Laura and Julio, provided outstanding service, with Laura’s friendly yet professional demeanor being particularly noteworthy. She made us feel at home, allowing us to fully appreciate the restaurant’s atmosphere and savor the delicious cuisine.
The Spicy Piña cocktail is a must-try for those who prefer drinks that are slightly spicy and not overly sweet. Our selection of dishes, including Tortilla soup, Country salad, San Miguel salad, Smoked ceviche ‘MAYA’, Salmon Laminate, Sea bass ‘TOLTECA’, Pork shank in beer sauce, and Chocolate Sphere for dessert, showcased the restaurant’s culinary expertise.
Laura’s attentiveness extended beyond our meal, as she gave us a tour of the rooftop and provided a blanket to keep us warm while we took in the night view of the SMA town.
We highly recommend this establishment for its delectable food and exceptional service. Thank you to the entire staff for a wonderful experience.

Really beautiful spot with an open courtyard and friendly staff. My husband and I ordered sirloin and arrachera from the Cuts menu. The sirloin was tender and veggies cooked perfectly. Next time I will order what another table ordered, the Short Rib en Mezcal. Now THAT looked bomb.

We were excited to try this restaurant after seeing the photos and reading some positive reviews, especially about the mole. Upon arrival for lunch, we were the only guests in the restaurant, so we were hopeful for a wonderful dining experience. Unfortunately, that did not happen.
The good news is that my chicken mole was very good, albeit a small portion for the high price. The problems started with my partner’s dish. He ordered Don Alex chicken, which was supposed to be a chicken breast. As he began to eat, he realized it had a leg bone. By now, there was another couple in the restaurant, and the waitress did not come back to our table to ask about our food. She seemed more interested in being on her phone near the bar. When we finally got her attention, we told her that the dish was not a chicken breast. She seemed confused, and called over the bartender, who spoke some English. He went on to tell us that the kitchen had run out of chicken breast, so had served my partner a thigh and leg instead. No one mentioned this when we ordered, and it certainly is not acceptable to substitute a lesser piece of protein in a dish that costs more than $30CAD. We suggested a discount should be in order, and the waitress seemed perturbed. She then called a manager, and a conversation ensued behind the bar while we waited for our bill.
When she finally returned to our table, she loudly slapped the leather bill holder on our table, to which my partner responded “Are you okay?” We couldn’t believe the attitude! When we opened the bill, the errant chicken dish had been comp’d. That was not our goal, but it did make up for a bad experience. Considering the mole dish contained a chicken breast, we wonder how or when the chef ran out.
All in all, it ruined what we had hoped would be a nice lunch date. We would not return, even if the flavours were good. The experience was insulting.

Mole with pollo was good, rest of the dishes were average at best. Tons of flies all around. Service is nothing special either. I’d skip this one and look for better places in San Miguel. It’s also extremely difficult to find a parking place nearby.

Delicious Mexican food. I came here with a friend and we split a couple of appetizers, which was more than enough food. This was my third time returning to this restaurant and it’s mainly for the mouth watering cauliflower. I also loved the fish tacos. I look forward to returning.

One of the best, really top places all around, in SMA. Food better even than overvalued Michelin star places, with a great chef from SMA itself. Service above that of world-class major restaurants (real Mexican loving service). Very adequate prices, obtaining excellent quality in all their dishes and drinks. And a magnificent, dreamy, absolutely historical location. In what was the house of one of the first Mexican presidents in modern history! An absolute delight. Welcoming, delighting, and unforgettable. Don’t miss it while visiting SMA!

Amazing experience in higher cuisine. The place is super nice and got a huge terrace as well. I came for a mole dish and didn’t get disappointed. All food I had was super tasty and the sauces which came aside, too. The service was very good and attentive. Very recommended.
