When biking through this area over the summer, I noticed this place was being remodeled and made a mental note to come back once it opened. This morning felt like a good opportunity to check it out. Apparently, it has been open for about a month.
Food & Drink:
We ordered a couple of hot beverages. My friend had a Chai Latte, and I ordered a London Fog Tea Latte. I would have preferred it in a mug, but they currently don’t offer that option. They have a small bakery selection, all wrapped in plastic, including cookies, bagels, muffins, and frosted cinnamon rolls. I chose the cinnamon roll, which they warmed slightly.
To be honest, I was disappointed with the London Fog. The temperature and flavor were fine, but it really wasn’t much of a latte. There was a little foam on top and warmed milk underneath, but no real frothy texture. Since we were the only customers there, I had a friendly conversation with the barista. They explained that they use an automated machine that handles all the milk steaming and frothing. They’re new to the role, and as far as they know, this is simply how the drink turns out. There isn’t any way for them to adjust the milk texture or quality. Depending on your expectations, this may or may not be the coffee shop for you. We split the cinnamon roll, which was nicely warmed up for us. It had a good flavor,and generous icing. We both agreed that it was a bit too dry.
Service:
As soon as we entered, we were greeted very warmly by the barista. Since it was our first visit, they shared quite a bit of background about the space, the different offerings, and the fact that it also functions as a floral shop. When I mentioned my concerns about the London Fog, they offered to remake it, but were upfront that it would likely be the same due to the equipment and their limited ability to adjust the process. Given that they only became a barista about a month ago, there were few options to improve it.
Atmosphere:
This place has a lot going for it. There isn’t a sign out front or on the building, but it does look like it could be a coffee shop and has a clearly visible “Open” sign. Inside, there are plenty of seasonal decorations and several small tables for seating. It’s quiet, relaxed, and has a pleasant vibe. In addition to coffee, they sell candy, popcorn, ice cream, and other interesting merchandise that would make nice gifts.
Overall, I like the place. It’s cute and would be a nice spot to relax with a drink. That said, it’s not somewhere I’d go if I were specifically looking for a well-crafted latte. That may be something they address over time.
I would give it another try.

My fiancé and I live just down the road from Kiki’s and saw it being remodeled over the summer. I was SO excited to see it finally open and have been separate time with both my fiancé and sister. This coffee shop is adorable, super cute, modern and inviting. The barista was super sweet and easy to talk to and the lattes we tried were delicious. So excited to have a coffee shop in downtown Dousman now!
