The food is a tiiiiiny bit hit or miss, the fries really could use some work and I’d love to see a couple more vegetarian items, but most items are good straightforward dive food! Love the VLT especially 🙂
The bartenders are seriously the sweetest and prices are fair!
Holman’s Bar & Grill is a classic neighborhood bar known for its friendly, laid-back atmosphere and solid American comfort food. The menu includes burgers, sandwiches, wings, and pub-style appetizers, paired with a good selection of beers, cocktails, and spirits.
The food is generally tasty and well-prepared, with generous portions that satisfy casual diners. Service is friendly and attentive, contributing to a welcoming vibe.
The ambiance is relaxed, with bar seating, casual tables, and often TVs for sports. It’s a great spot for catching up with friends, enjoying a casual meal, or watching a game. Overall, Holman’s offers a reliable, comfortable bar-and-grill experience.
Been coming here for over a decade — my go-to spot for a quick beer and smoke. Great patio, chill vibe, and always polite bartenders.
Shoutout to Zoe (assuming she’s the manager?). The other night there was this wild rainstorm — felt like I was on a Universal Studios Jurassic Park ride that broke down mid-scene and everything started flooding. While most of us were just trying to stay dry with a drink in hand, Zoe jumped right in — literally — helping fix the flooding on the back patio with a bunch of others. She took charge, kept everyone’s spirits up, and clearly cares about the place.
It’s rare to see someone handle chaos with humor and leadership. If she’s not managing yet, she absolutely should be.
And what if that cocktail spilled because the restaurant’s table had a significant bump in it?
According to the bartender, a towel to clean it up yourself, and no discounted/replacement drink. “It’s out of my hands.”
As a regular at Holman’s, I was shocked at the apathy I received during my most recent visit. I loved Holman’s, but I feel burned and will be quick to warn others about this cost cutting technique.
This review is up as long as I haven’t reached a resolution with management. This was previously a 5 star review.
Love the place, love the vibe, love the people, love the food, love the prices.
Don’t love walking the 25 minutes over, up 5 times over the past year to find the hours changing every few months, but never updated online, to try to get breakfast and they don’t open for 3 more hours, despite saying they open at 8am on here AND their website.
I was super excited to step back into a nostalgic place, but unfortunately I didn’t have the experience I was hoping.
First off not one person greeted us.
I get it’s Saturday and it’s busy, but still….
The bartender was very nice when we approached him about how do we get a drink, or order food since no one acknowledged us.
We ordered our drinks : A classic bloody and coffee and Sat down with our number for food.
Drinks were great.
Then the wait…….. I think we timed it taking an hour and 20 min for our food.
During which time no one checked in on us, or even told us we would have this long of a wait.
We are on limited time (baby at home with Grandma).
Luckily we gave it 10 more minutes and our food arrived because we were thinking of bailing. Especially after reading reviews during our wait.
Here is the thing. Just communicate.
That’s all.
Obviously understaffed for a well known brunch place on the weekends. The dining area and bar were full with one cook, one bartender and one server? Maybe? I don’t even know.
Just more staff would make this a way better experience.
We have no complaints on the food. Is it the best in town? No. It’s just simple, good dive bar food and honestly we both loved the potatoes. Decent for sure and I’ve always loved the vibe of this place.
So hey new owners!!
You have something special here and people love this place.
Maybe get them to communicate better and give them some help so they can do so.
My boyfriend (it was his first time here) owns a bar himself and was very confused by the number of staff on hand for how busy it was.
Otherwise this place has so much potential being open again and the bartender was still very composed and nice under such a huge rush.
I see good things in the future?
