Ristorante i Ricchi is a true gem and a longstanding spot that lives up to its reputation for authentic Tuscan cuisine. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by a cozy, candlelit space with a beautiful, classic Italian vibe that immediately set the tone for an unforgettable evening.
The menu is genuinely Italian, highlighting traditional recipes, fresh pastas, and high-quality ingredients, all complemented by an impressive wine list featuring excellent Italian selections. Our waiter was incredibly attentive, and the service throughout the night was nothing short of impeccable—warm, professional, and welcoming.
What truly set this experience apart was being invited to the back for a private tour of where the fresh pasta is made, and having the opportunity to watch the chef prepare our meal. It added such a personal, behind-the-scenes touch and deepened our appreciation for the craft and care that goes into every dish.
We began with the Mushroom Appetizer (Funghi), which was rich, earthy, and absolutely delicious. I ordered the Cavatelli, a squid ink pasta with shrimp, sausage, and tomato—perfectly balanced and packed with flavor. My daughter chose the Pici al’Algione, thick spaghettoni tossed in a garlic tomato sauce with basil and whipped ricotta, and it was just as outstanding.
This was, hands down, the best dining experience I have ever had. Every bite made me feel transported back to Italy. Ristorante i Ricchi delivers Michelin-quality cuisine with heart and soul. We are still raving about this restaurant and cannot wait to return.

My wife and I dined for Valentine’s Day and had an AMAZING dinner. When I closed my eyes while enjoying dinner, I was transported to Tuscany! The wonderful aromas hit you right when you walk in the doors and staff was truly professional. 100% Recommend!!!

We went here for Valentine’s Day dinner, and we were very disappointed in the food, service, and overall experience. There were two problems with the food: the fact that we found hair in our bread for the table and the fact that our overpriced steak was not cooked correctly and very tough (it was $58 and worth not more than $20). Also, the pasta we ordered was okay but nothing special. Secondly, the staff was not friendly. They were not apologetic about the hair in our food, they rushed us through ordering in a half empty restaurant (and were overall pushy and pestering us the whole time), and they were generally inconsiderate and rude. After overpaying for a mediocre meal and service, we left thoroughly disappointed and wondering how this place is rated so well.

Great Italian restaurant in the heart of DC. Service and atmosphere was great – it’s a smaller, intimate place perfect for a date night or gathering with some close friends. Food was all impeccable, from the focaccia to the salad, to the entree, to the dessert. Waiter was fantastic and even scraped the table crumbs in between servings.
Note that this is not an inexpensive restaurant by any means so he prepared for that menu shock! Probably not something you could do every week, but maybe every once and a while for a special occasion.

Seriously some of the best pasta I’ve ever had.
My family has been going here since I was a kid and we have to come back every-time we’re in DC.
The staff is awesome, the appetizers are on point and I just love everything about this place. They always seem to be trying new things and changing up the menu over the years as well, but in a good way.
Couldn’t recommend it enough.

Went here for a work dinner and had the peach bellini and it was really good, perfect mix of alcohol and the peach puree, other places usually out too much alcohol and loose the peach flavor. Had the tortellini filled with spinach with the sage butter sauce, the sauce was great but the pasta I still needed to be done a little bit more. We tried all the desserts but their strawberry one was the best one, definitely ask that one!

The waiter was the nicest guy. What we ordered was so great. The scallops, mushrooms, and gnocchi appetizer was phenomenal. My filet was cooked to perfection, and my wifey’s pasta was scrumptious. We felt like the most important diner’s in the place. Candle lit table in the corner was romantic. We had been here years ago, on our last trip to D.C., and we are so glad we went again. Probably too much provided, and too posh of a place, for the Groupon price. Don’t tell them.

First had reservation at 7:30 was not seated until 8 with very empty restaurant. The place was not busy at all. Our server didn’t know any of the details about our meal. We didn’t get the full presentation and didn’t know any of the dishes. Also half way through our meal a group of people sat down next to us with a dog that was not a service animal. I am highly allergic to dogs so the remainder of my dinner I was miserable. My friend was served the wrong dish and was made to feel bad about sending it back because the incorrect dish they gave her had shellfish in it that she is highly allergic too. Once we did receive our food it was great but the service and management was not the expectation I was expecting.

This is a lovely space with well thought out decor. We started our meal with Focaccia and Capesante (scallops appetizer) it was divine with perfectly cooked scallops and pillow soft gnocchi. The sauce was rich and earthy from the wild mushrooms perfect for dabbing up with bread.
Sadly, no dabbing happened as I was not a fan of the focaccia- it was very dry and lacked in the flavor department.
Our entrées: Bistecca alla Fiorentina( NY strip) and the house pasta special with littleneck clam.
The steak was like butter- cooked medium rare, this cut was deliciously prepared and beautifully seasoned. Accompanied with whipped potatoes and haricot verts, this dish was a star.
The pasta on the other hand was uninspiring- looked and tasted like undercooked,
unflavored, packaged ramen noodles. The pasta was tabled.
We completed our meal with a single espresso. Overall, the meal was lovely. We would try again, but perhaps stay away from the pasta.
With a final bill of $200usd, including cocktails, it was a fair dinner.
